And another one bites the dust......

I have a little surprise for close contact (tee handle will go right through Kevlar) but nothing beats a BANG for instant gratification and stopping power.

Along with the gun nearby while sleeping it's also not a bad idea to have home security system turned on at night to give you some advanced warning. Never felt that all these layers of protection would be needed until recently.

1956....you're saying you'd have gone against the guy that was shot....when he was the one carrying the gun?

Hmmmmm, that sounds like a Darwin Award move. Rule #1 in a gun fight is.....(drum roll please)....always bring a gun to the fight. Otherwise, you lose. Ain't no second place "winner" in a gun fight. There's only the winner and the dead/wounded guy and I'd hardly call that "coming in second place."

Things must be a lot different in Saginaw and Bay City from when I lived there.

No you ding dong ,The guy in the original post who came through the door,be like hitting a blooper ball except for the mess it would make.I wouldnt try anything with a thieft at a gas pump, just give him the fake roll and watch him runaway.

Here in NJ the security guard would have had to go out to the yard and drag the guy INTO the house to die. And they'd still probably lock him up for not making a "reasonable effort to flee."

In most cases, 911 = government sponsored dial-a-prayer... wait and hope they get there in time.
No thanks, I was taught to be prepared for the unexpected.

Gun control = nice, tight grouping.

I think a very large "Thank You" is due the man who pulled the trigger. Besides saving his family a tragedy, he no doubt saved others also. God Bless Him!

Gun control is buying one gun when you really wanted to buy two.

+1 !

Why just call and ask Joe....Biden, LOL I say the outcome was deserved and it saved the taxpayers money. He did the right thing.

Now, Joe's way would have been to fire off a shot in the air and that will scare them off for sure.

Impossible to accurately second guess the homeowner's thoughts or perspective... the only thing I would have changed is I don't think I would have stopped with only four shots, and the perp would not have been able to stagger anywhere.

Now. now anything over three direct hits is just being showy.

I leave a firearm loaded in my home as well. I have 2 aiater a brother and my parents in the home as well they have all been trained very well on how to use it and also have been told that if u show the intruder the gun you must use it. There's no studder or hesitation because if u Do it could n your life that the gun takes. One warning as the guy in your gave. "I have a gun" if that doesn't scare him away it tells me he had one too so the second his foot enters my house he's gunna have a really bad day. Gives me peace of mind for when I'm not home.
I also carry on my boat at all times. This started when a drunk boater side swipped me in my 22 Yamaha jetboat with his formula 37 ss while he was onplane in a no wake zone. I left him alone because of his actions following the side swipe such as throwing corona bottles at me and a they were braking inside my boat. So I left all alone and contiued to head back to my marina to asses damages. While I was looking at my boat he came behind me with a bat, he was twice my size (typical guido juice head fist pumper kinda guy)(sorry if that offended anybody) but fortunalty he was so drunk I was able to push him in the water whilehe was mid swing at my head and by that time the cops showed up one cop was african american and the guy made sure the cop knew how he felt about his color. Well ling story short if he wasn't as drunk as he was I would either not b here right now or have been very injured so I like to have something to defend myself with. Oh yea and pirates scare me to! And I like to go out a couple miles offshore and blow off a couple steal cased rounds when I'm angry or frustrated. Really helps

Yeah, but somehow reloading a partial magazine just doesn't seem as fulfilling. You should always rotate your ammo.

I am for the right to own a gun... But, I am sure the guy to who had to kill the home invader is not happy he killed a man. The world is a crazy place, and getting more crazy everyday. When I was a kid we lived on a farm and we owned a lot of guns... None were registered because you did not have to register guns in NJ at that time. We used the guns to kill wild animals. People understood that almost everyone owned a gun, much like Texas today... Now that we live in a densly populated area, with very low crime, having a loaded gun in the house or a boat is not the way I want to live. A big dog works well for us...

Does the dog own a gun?

I have my old ithaca 12 ga model 37 loaded with buck shot "just in case" :)

Nice! Just dry loading the gun scares the poo out of them

I am a proud member of the NRA and a supporter of our 2nd amendment rights.
This man did the right thing............defended his family and home. One bad guy paid the price.
My usual carry weapon is a .380 Auto (S&W Bodyguard).

Thanks for the Post.

The Second Amendment is the very basis and foundation of our freedom. When it goes away we are no longer a free nation! No other amendment or clause in the constitution makes a better promise. It demonstrates complete trust in me as a citizen by my government.

Cops carry guns to protect themselves..............not me.

+1 Thats why we need the protection just as much as the cops. They can't be everywhere, and in an instance where you have a home invasion, the only way a cop would help is if he/she was in your house with you. Don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.
