A few weeks ago AMFM3 invited GW and me up to Kelowna, BC for a visit and a cruise on Lake Okanagan on their SeaRay 370 Sundancer. We left home Friday a.m. for the 6.5 hour drive up and when we got into the area we ran into a HUGE wind storm with pelting rain. Things didn't look good for boating on Saturday. AMFM3 had gotten us reservations at The Eldorado, a very nice hotel in Kelowna. We met them for dinner at the hotel and we had a great time sharing boating stories and laughs over a nice dinner.

Arrangements were made for us to meet them at their marina at noon and shortly thereafter we pulled out of the slip and cruised the lake for the rest of the day. Mark and Janet treated us to a lunch of bbq'd chicken and vegetable skewers, then we cruised around the lake for a couple more hours before heading back to the slip. After getting the boat safely tucked in we headed to a gorgeous winery for a little tasting. (See photo below that we took from the lake)

Here are a few shots I took during the day.... Here's where we anchored to cook lunch...

Check out the root on this tree. It has grown down and split the rock it's perched upon.

Thanks Mark and Janet for a wonderful time. Dinner last night was a lot of fun and today on the lake was spectacular. Today we made many very happy memories that won't be forgotten.

Hopefully we'll see you down in the Tri Cities so we can reciprocate on the Columbia on Beachcomber.

Ummmmmmm, Mark, read how you signed off on your post.....did you have more beer when you went back down to the boat?

We made it back home last night around 7:00 after an uneventful drive of around 6.5 hours. We got here just in time to go to a Sawyer Brown outdoor concert where we ran into the friends how arranged the backstage passes for us at the Portland Waterfront Blues Festival. We danced ourselves silly until the concert ended at 8:30 then stopped for a drink at one of the local watering holes with them.

A perfect end to a wonderful trip. Mark and Janet, thanks for all of your hospitality and a great tour of Lake Okanagan on AMFM3.

Great pics !!. .

You guys keep having fun while I'm stuck out here in cow country. :smt089

It was good to finally meet you Mike. The concert was a good one, a little windy but fun.

Just a couple more pics for you.

Tina enjoying the bow cushions and scenery of the Okanagan.
