Alone in 360 sundancer

Here is a picture of my set up...
Todd,

What make did you go with for your 9' dinghy? I am really not sure which way to go. We have a 40' slip and from what I can tell the Davit system you use will force the boat to stick out past the 40' covered slip. Wonder if it would be better to inflate it when needed. Got any good words of advice?

You have now reached all the 360 owners on this site. I purchased mine new and have been very happy with it since. I do not use a dingy so no help there. We boat on Lake Texoma and the 360 is a great size for this large lake. Hope you enjoy your new boat. By the way, the 360 is a better ergonomic design than the afore mentioned 380, IMO.

I cant find anything on the 380 that would make me want it over my 360. Does anyone have any electronics on theirs? I only have the Raymarine DS300 GPS Plotter and am looking at adding a Raymarine E-80 multifunction display. Was trying to get an estimate on installation costs.

This is one thread I did not need.... I have been dreaming of a 360 for the last two years. Figured nobody bought them. Now I see a bunch of happy owners...aaaaahhh. My dealer has a 2003 360 for sale and as been asking me to come down and visit...stop it you guys.... looks like my 310, but bigger and more comfortable.... Really think that the 360 is a great boat, right size, and perfect for long holidays... I am jealous...

I boat in your same area. I have a 10' Mercury Sport Inflatable with a 6 HP - 4 stroke outboard. It is great for going a mile or so. We anchor in Two branch a lot and then will take the dinghy to the beaches it works fine. In fact mine actually can sit on the swim platform fine. My winter project is to make some davits similiar to Pete's and Dom's.

Just what ergonomic design features you referring to? I have looked at both (In fact just missed buying a 2004, 360 by only a couple of hours) and I do not see any particular difference.

Maybe I can make an ergonomic changes to mine?

Mike I would have to say that it falls under the category of if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. However if it isnt I too am interested in it for spare parts. Ha! The fore cabin does have pocket doors and the aft cabin has curtains that fully enclose it.

I am looking at the E-80 but I have to move the DS300 GPS plotter becasue they mounted it where a chart plotter should go. Urgh! Did you do any of the installation on your own?

Your setup looks very nice. I am holding off on the autopilot until we plan for more open waters.

That is awesome to know. While on the river next summer give me a shout. I would like to know how your davit system project goes this winter too. My wife has been on me about wanting to go to the beaches like we used to do with our 260 Sundancer but I told her I didn't feel comfortable landing the 360 on there the same as we did with the 260. My proposal was to get a dinghy and a 6hp motor with the 360 at anchor off the beach.

I did install everthing my self..The auto pilot took the longest, but like I said was the best thing I have installed as we cruiseLake Superior..

When you go and install the E-80 make sure you have the sun cover on as it is a VERY TIGHT fit.. That's right a voice of experience.....

Thanks for the advice. I have considered doing it my self but am hesitant. I am looking at an open array radar and a digital sounder module with in hull transducer. My biggest concern is getting the 50lb+ radar pedistal onto the arch without tearing it up and also fishing wires throughout the boat with not a lot of knowledge of where the wire ways are and what I can and cant drill through. Any more advice you can give or should I just have someone else install it?

I installed my GPS and ran the wires from the helm to the arch. It is not too bad. I suspect it is a similar chase as my 320. You have to remove a few things - but not too bad.

OK...here's another happy 360DA owner! Just joined the site so I could join the conversation.

I have a 2005 that I picked up in the spring of 2006. I have been very happy with it. This is my 7th boat, 4th Sea Ray. I'm a fairly experienced boater.

I've installed the Roskelley Olssen davit system and carry an AB 9.5' RIB with 15HP Yamaha. Works well, but you do feel the weight back there.

Question - has anyone installed a satellite TV receiver on their 360? I have the open array radar, so will need to get a dual mount bracket (or have one built). Also, I'm curious of any experiences people have with their SAT TV receivers? Good brands? Things to watch out for? Voices of experience?

I'm using this conversion to digital signals as the excuse I need to go ahead with the satellite route!

Thanks!

For you 360DA owners....how do the showers work? The way the acrylic doors pull around...is there adequate room? Does the rest of the head stay dry?

Jeff - regarding your question on the showers...I see you're not getting much response. I can't help much either, since I don't ever use it. In fact I removed the shower head and hose, keep it in a box under the sofa seat. I will say, though, that I've stood in there, closed the acrylic door, and it seems like it would be enough room for me (and I'm not small). Most of the water spray would be contained but still I would imagine that you would want to wipe down the whole area after use.

Personally, I either use the shower facilities at the marina, or if I'm on the hook I jump off the back of the boat with a bar of soap!

Hello,

Sorry for my late response.
We use the shower very much.
I am almost 6.8ft and weigh 130 kg, and it's big enough.
Everything around the acrylic doors stays perfect dry.
Also the construction is very strong and high.

Are you looking for a 360?

Peter.
