Well,

This Friday we are scheduled to finally take possesion of our 2007 185 Sport. I started watching the weather this past weekend. Initially Wed. was supposed to the worst day although Friday was looking chilly with highs expected around 61. As the week has progressed it appears the perfect storm is now bearing down for Friday. Highs have creeped up into the low 70's but heavy rain including possible thunderstorms are in the forecast. Keep your fingers crossed that we will be able to get our shakedown run in Friday morning before any severe weather hits. I will have my camera to take some pics. The last time we saw the boat was when we purchased it 6 months ago.

Congrats on the new boat! Don't worry to much about the weather... They have a hard time predicting 8 hours ahead much less 2 days in advance.  But even if Friday is a bust, There's always Saturday!

I could not wait to test drive our new 185 sport, so we went out with snow on the ground. The spray was freezing in our hair. It was the bigest mistake ever. If the weather is bad, just wait to take delivery till you can take a good test drive. We just had to have it home, but the first time out, we realized we had alot of questions and were on our own. We could not even get the boat to start. Just my .02. I remember how excited I was when we brought ours home. My neighbors probably thought I had lost it. I was in the boat every day just sitting there going over things. It's a good thing though, because other wise I never would have found the light stored in the ski locker.

Well as expected, delivered was delayed. Showed up at 9:00 this morning after fairly heavy storms all night. They were checking weather sats and there were two big cells in the area. They suggested and I agreed to wait until tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.
In the meantime thought I would share some quick shots I took while there.

Sorry I did not see that. That sucks. I really wanted yellow. I guess I will never trust the salesman again. That is the 3rd thing now that the salesman said that was not true. I love my boat, but would like it alot better if it were yellow, had the upgraded seats like we thought we were getting, and had the remote for the stereo at the rear of the boat so we could access it while swimming. BTW I love your boat. Very nice.

Well we splashed yesterday at about 5:00 p.m. Weather was pretty overcast. Boat was in top shape. Nice gift bucket from the part manager filled with cleaning supplies. Boat was in tip top shape and they even had a small plaque made up with the boat info and the wife and my name engraved on it. Since this is our first boat it was a real experience. The wandering with the stern drive at no wake speed will take some getting used to. Salesman was great, took plenty of time with us, went through the whole launching and retrieving routine. We opened it up as part of the check-off process and man...that 4.3L makes the boat jump. We didn't get home until almost 9:00. The only thing missing or wrong was that we couldn't find the bag for the canvas cover. Need to go out now and give it a good cleaning and waxing. Over all a great experience.

Sorry to hear that you were misinformed Searay Sport, that sucks.
Hope to get some pics today in the virtual marina after cleaning it up...

Greg,

On the slow speed wonder, try not correcting. Place the steering wheel where you would like to go and leave it there. You will notice that the boat will come back to the right spot automatically. The mistake comes when trying to correct the problem in my opinion.

Glad to hear they took so good care of you. Make sure to read the manual about break in period on the engines. It will ensure that you have years of enjoyment.

I will have to try that Wesley thanks. Spent the day today washing and washing and doing general cleaning and stocking. I through a few pics up in the virtual gallery.

That's a beautiful boat.................and that Marina is equally beautiful. It looks like it just opened.

Enjoy the new boat.
