Note: This feature currently requires accessing the site using the built-in Safari browser.
I have been getting them also. I just added “Crystal” content blocker to my iPhone and voila. They are gone. Cost $.99.

I really don't mind the sponsor ads and that is why I chose to pay for one each month - I feel they bring a value to the users, make money for the operator and they attract customers to our business.
It's these adsense ads that are cluttering the site and taking away from usability and the ability for direct merchant sponsors to convey their brand. All they offer is a review of things we previously search for.

I don’t think so. Example - the Bay Marine banner is at the top of this thread. I don’t think these ads are CSR driven...I do not see them on my desktop cpu.So are you getting rid of all ads including sponsors (like my sponsor ad for Cove Marine) or just the adsense?
-Kevin
As a SILVER sponsor, the only adds I see are site sponsors... not too annoying.
View attachment 58497 Jim. I am a sponsor and have banner ads as well. Here is a brooklinen one as we speak.
I don’t think these are CSR site ads at all. I think these are browser ads being added in on top of CSR. They had nothing to do with boating. I only saw the ads on my mobile device and since I added the “Crystal” ad blocker app to my iPhone, they are gone... BUT I am still seeing the CSR banner ads for Jim’s revenue. The owner of this site built the site and maintains it to generate revenue. I do not know him and I'm sure he is a great guy and wanted to supply a service to the boating community but he should be paid for the services that he provides. For me I really like the service. I'm sure he likes us all but the site is in business for revenue generation just like any business so you either see ads or you do not use the site. Some people do not understand how eCommerce or social media works. It is like the people on Facebook being surprised that all their information was sold to a third party while using a free service . Really do you not know how the world works?

I don't often view the site on my phone. But just opened it up in Safari on my iPhone and there is a floating non-boating ad at the top of the page. There is also an ad at the bottom of the page, but doesn't float when I scroll. I checked a couple of threads and did not see any ads within the posts themselves. I am on my home computer now, using Safari and there is no floating ad at the top, there is a static ad at the very bottom between the contact us line and the about us section. Nothing is floating over the site sponsor ads on either platform.
Yeah, if it doesn't get taken care of soon, I can see it affecting both traffic, and income from people sponsoring, and companies paid advertisement.I know very well what it cost to operate a site - my IT business manages two data centers. I understand the need to cover costs and generate a profit but I pay monthly for our banner - but now there are two adsense banners at the top above mine and others spewing reminders of things I searched for with no relevance to boating. Adsense only generates if someone clicks on the ad whereas our banner is pre-paid income so why would or should it get preferential placement to ours. Now if this annoys enough people either traffic will drop or people will turn on ad blockers either way it diminishes they value to our ad.

I don’t have those big blank areas. Mine looks normal.Go back to your phone. And notice every time you go to a new page, you see this.

EVERY page. Reading things on a phone is challenging enough. And forum owners didn't want to stay within the framework of the Tapatalk forum reader so they have a responsibility to make sure their mobile site is usable. I've seen this elsewhere. Eventually there will be a huge ad in that blank space that you have to ignore and scroll by.
