Hello.

I want to introduce myself. My name is Klaus, I am 51 years old and live in Oberhausen, a city with a population of 250.000 about 40km north of Dusseldorf.

On the last Saturday my wife Daniela and I bought a SeaRay 230 Overnighter from model year 2000. It is our third boat, which we have purchased in the past 9 years.

We started with an Italian Selva 5.0 Center Console with a 50 hp Tohatsu outboard. Then we have owned an English Fletcher 19 GTS with a Mercruiser 4.3 and now having the SeaRay with Mercruiser 7.4.

During the summer on the weekends we travel around on the northern parts of the rivers Rhine and Maas. We spend our holidays in Italy on the Adriatic.

As in the German boats forums is not much to learn about SeaRay, I registered here to receive first-hand information.

I thank you in advance for the many interesting comments that I've found so far.

Greetings from Germany
Klaus

Welcome aboard, Klaus. That 230OV was always one of my favorites. It's got a really solid hull and has a nice ride. Good luck with your new toy!

From across the pond, welcome to CSR!

Klaus, guten tag und willkommen!!!!!!!

Welcome aboard, enjoy your new boat!

Full blooded German here. Parents were born in Leipzig and still have relatives there but I can't speak a lick of it. Welcome to CRS and good luck with your new toy.

Welcome aboard.

Hallo Klaus!
Wilkommen to CSR!

Oberhausen is very nice! I was there in 2003 at an event in the Konig Pilsner arena...I will be back in Germany in late May, mostly in Wetzlar... With a side trip to Berlin!

Hi Klaus, from Canada! Enjoy the new ride - looks great!! Met some fun people from Germany while vacationing in Naples Florida two months ago. They couldn't speak much English and we had some laughs when I shared the only German I knew... "Leiderhosen, Farfignuton (from the old VW commercials) and Gooden-nack".

Welcome to Clubsearay. Very nice boat I am sure you guys will love it. This is a great place to learn about our boats and yachts. When does the water get warm enough for you to swim? Here in Indiana we will not get in the water till mid May give or take 2 weeks. I have visited my cousins in Munster and have taken some photographs of your great city.

I don't post much but I do look at the posts just about everyday. I have learned a lot. Our first boat was a Bayliner 170, second Sea Ray 175 and our current boat Sea Ray 1990 225 BR. Our boats are about the same size. In case you want to look at your year boat go to this official Sea Ray(archives) site. http://www.searay.com/Page.aspx/pageId/10532/Model-Archives.aspx

Klaus,

Welcome to Club Sea Ray. Be careful...it's very addictive! This will be the first site you go to whenever you log in online.

Also from Canada, I'm originally from Kitchener Ontario. It is Canada's German hub, home of Oktoberfest each October and 2nd only to Munich's. enjoy your new boat and feel free to use KM whenever you want! The Canadians here get it! Lol.

Enjoy!

Hey folks,

I am overwhelmed by your warm welcome here in CSR.

On the one hand it's nice to hear that there are many people who have their roots in Germany and on the other I find it amazing that there are even people on the other side of the pond who know our little Oberhausen. (http://goo.gl/maps/OottZ)

The countries which you represent, I only know from the world atlas: Australia, Canada, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Pensilvania, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia! Unbelievable.

But the Netherlands and there the Leukermeer are well known to me, dear Marco. Because until then it is only about 40 miles and here we start most often when we are out on the River Maas.

So far we have only visited California and Nevada serveral times, and were blown away by the size and beauty of the landscape. The openness and friendliness of the people we will remember forever. Something we have taken from there: a 2010 Ford Mustang Convertible now takes the Autobahn under its hooves.

I look forward to having a good time and a lot of nice contacts here in CSR, thank's for your efforts to welcome me in my language and I hope I could even be able to help you in any way. And whoever comes here in our neighborhood will always find a soft bed and hospitality in our house.

Regards
Klaus

PS. And if ther are some mistakes in my threads - don't agree with me. There are several years between school and today.
