A/C running very loud

I'm sure this has been discussed many times. At lake with
iPhone.

Our a/c unit is running very loud. I cleaned the front filter
screen and checked strainer. All seems well. Cooling good
just loud as you know what.

Is there something else I need to be checking?

The plastic squirrel cage blower on my brother's boat completely destroyed itself. Because of this, it was so out of balance that it made a very loud racket. When I installed the new one, I noticed that there was a tiny metal clip on one of the vanes for balancing purposes. If all of your vanes are still intact, perhaps the blower is simply out of balance or loose on the motor shaft.

As Pres suggested, you need to determine if it's fan noise- or compressor noise.
If the noise/vibration exists in fan-only mode (no compressor running) it could be the fan blades as he suggested, or possibly bad motor bearings, loose mount, etc.

Well I guess it could be both. When it initially starts it's very loud, then after it runs a bit the noise subsides, but still not to the level when we got the boat.

I'm going to call a marine a/c guy and have him come check it out. Need to get it fixed (if it's broke) now, rather than waiting until we hitting upper 80 temps!!!

Its the nature of the beast. I think u will find its the compressor. It just is what it is. U can wrap the compressor in insulation. Or try and sound proof the area the units located in. The noise does not mean there is something wrong. Also just make sure things arent rubbing or loose.
