A "Block Member" feature for the thread author can preserve the integrity of a thread.

Sorry. Now that I am retired I forget that you guys are not! I am sitting at home watching the Canadian Open golf on a drizzly day. I should be at the boat or golfing but not today.
Rain in Canada??
Does that mean we’ll see the sun here in NY soon??

Thing is, there is always "that guy" on every thread. You know the drunk dude at the end of the bar who adds his $.02 without even knowing what the topic is. Threads get derailed and hijacked all of the time. It's something people need to learn to deal with. Unfortunately the younger generation it seems has not learned any coping skills.

AAAAa.....PirateLady is going to be VERY mad at you............

;)

I'm too late to this thread to be any help......

I just wonder how hurt feelings have become more important than civil discussion and humor? While we disagree on a lot of things.......there is no better place on the planet to discuss Sea Rays and get boat help if you need it.

I would opine that rather than a block member feature we should have a Diversity Equity and Inclusion committee that can shut down the website. If anyone says anything at any time about something someone or everyone may find offensive. First offense five minutes, second offense one day, third offense one week. This should be a federal regulation for all boating forums with severe financial penalties for non compliance. This is the only way to level the playing field for those who have difficulty accepting criticism or ignoring.

This is a crisis in the USA that must be addressed.

As a white male heterosexual I have to say...
Oh shit I'm not allowd to say anything!
Sorry my bad..

Yup…..I would never hire any of these wokesters.

First they would object to male and female threads on fittings. Second…..they would likely be eaten by a shark who mistook them for a rainbow colored seal.
And my company makes male thread tools that make female threads…

It should be a butt hurt feelings report. When I joined this forum I asked the same question. I said I have a 215 weekender how will it handle chop and 2-3 foot seas. I was not excited about the answers that I got but it's reality. I will go out in 2 foot seas all day long, is it a nice ride no but it's not as bad as my 18 ft bowrider. I am very happy with my current boat and just may step up a few more feet of/when the time comes. I'm always close to shore and wasn't looking for an offshore boat that could take 4 to 5 foot seas all day. Thanks guys

The OP first post in this thread is disturbing. He's 38yo, this his what he's been taught, it will apply in any context, to all interactions, not just those on a boating forum.

He started a couple threads, the drive oil hose thread, and the 'I want to run my 17 footer in 3ft waves' thread. He said he had no experience and knew nothing.

But he didn't like the help he was offered, it wasn't what he wanted to hear so..... CSR is an unhealthy environment, full of those that like to 'propagate misinformation', we 'ridicule', we're 'demeaning', we're 'rude' 'abusive' 'bullies'....and we just 'don't like him'. His solution is to block, to cancel, to not let us speak.

Our society is mass producing this kind of 'thinker'.

What’s even worse is the trigger post was pretty mild — “need a bigger boat.”
