Has anyone replaced the freezer with a refridgerator ? Did you have to cut the fiberglass to fit ?

My vessel actually came with a refrigerator in the cockpit. It looks like the standard ac/dc fridge I had on my 260. I dont know if the boat was mfg differently @ the time. What is your rough opening? I will be on my boat later this week completing the sliding door hardware replacement. I could measure my opening if you'd like. Todd
When you say a "freezer", do you mean an ice maker? If so, I have the cockpit icemaker too. But since I don't trust using ice made from water sitting in a water tank in the summer heat, I also don't see the benefit. Maybe if the water supply had a good bacterial filter? I was thinking about swapping the icemaker out for a small refrigerator too. If you find a good one that fits without a lot of mods, please let us know.
Nice read up on this thread, I was always wanting a cockpit refrigerator even on my 280da, but never got around to doing that project. Thankfully our 320da has ac/dc units in cockpit and cabin. They are loaded full and always on, love how they switch from AC to DC automatically, they have never caused a battery issue for us. I have a good friend with a '97 330da I will have to pass on the info to about your job well done "dmartin155". Cheers !!
