97 (early) Sundancer 290DA 454ci L29 Bravo 3

I've been busy and haven't put a lot of time into the boat. Long story short, someone who knows better than me corrected me on my cam install. Thankfully before I reinstalled it. It turns out that I had to install it with 6 degrees advance, not dot to dot or even at A2 like I had above. If I had installed it as it was I would have lost a little power, but it would have run fine. The good thing in this is that I learned a ton that I thought I already knew about cams.
I was able to button up my motor and start dressing it with the accessories over the weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to drop it back in the boat this coming weekend if the weather is decent.
I'm looking forward to relaunching it with my new toy also...

Looks pretty! Time to show us a pic of of your wake.

All bolted in and outdrive is installed. Last up are the exhaust manifolds and to fill it with antifreeze.

Small successes right now... Exhaust is in. I need to pick up a few exhaust worm clamps to replace ones I didn't like the looks of. Replace them and fill with antifreeze and she should be running tomorrow God willing.
This time I installed drain valves for draining antifreeze later. No matter how careful it seems to always make a mess.
I need to do a last bilge clean up once she's running too.

Great work. I know you gotta get a base line, but I see SS 4X4 or 4X3 props in your future.

Ugh... No more spending for a while lol Just bought a new F350.
Why are you thinking props? Just better performance? It has 22p stainless on it now.
It was funny tonight. My youngest and I were sitting talking up at the helm when we heard the ladder rattle and shake. Up comes the pup. She climbed the ladder herself to get in. She loves being in the boat.

Otherwise, you got mud tires on your Camaro.

Mud tires get great traction! Can't say that I'm following you though...?

Best I can tell, you've built some extra ass into that thing, so, although marine engine cooling systems don't play nice with valve overlap and cam timing changes you may be fine. Just be aware of reversion issues and how to avoid them.

As for the props, best propulsion performance is achieved with minimal slip when at W.O.T. if that's what your after.
W.O.T. is important with any boat.
What your optimal will be is to be determined.

Gotta love the chase.

Gotcha. Like you said before, I need a base line first. Once I get her up and running reliably I'll see where everything stands. Hopefully I can just run her for a while. If she needs something though, she'll get it. I'm replacing the canvas and doing some upholstery so I'd rather focus the bucks there if I can for a while...

Ahhh.... Finally the wake shot. Very short list of adjustments, but she's running beautifully. Plenty o' Power. Had her up to 35, but didn't want to push it yet. It was getting pretty dark too.

I replaced the head sink today. The old one worked, but it was pretty corroded.
I pulled the fridge out so I could get the cooktop out also. One of the switches is bad. Now I need to find a replacement. It's a Kenyon 6" & 8".
My pup was there supervising.

I had one broken push button cabinet lock that I've been waiting to replace. I wanted to change all of them from gold, seemingly bowchickawowow Tony Montana era, to silver. Initially I found out that you can just replace the pieces that are gold and not the whole lock. Great savings. Then I found out I could buy all of them, locks and all, for $40. Same as original factory quality.
Next up after that and the stove will be to refresh the mattresses and sheets etc and the galley faucet. I know some people don't like the beige couch etc fabric in the cabin, but I do so I'll leave it. It's perfect so why bother? The black and white fabric will have to go though.

Also, I found a nice replacement stove finally. It will be here tomorrow. The original cutout is: 21 7/8" x 12 7/8" and the glass top is 23 1/4" x 14 1/4". It was tough finding something that fit like factory. I love how it has the touch top buttons instead of the original mechanical switches also. The mechanical switches at 90 degrees to where you're standing seemed like it was an afterthought instead of being designed for the boat.
$105 instead of the Kenyon that is almost $400 and not as nice IMO. I'm not sure what the original is, but this one is 1.8kw. 900w max each at the same time on high or it will balance out if your running one at 1.2kw etc.
For anyone thinking of changing theirs out:

That looks nice. Remember, not all pots and pans will work on a induction cook top. Also make sure the ones that do you use, are perfectly flat on the bottom mating surface otherwise the new cook top may not last too long.

Thanks. Should work ok. I've seen a few things mentioned that you're talking about. I'm sure I'll leave the right kind of pots and pans on the boat for boat only duty.

I'm pretty happy with how the fridge trim came out after media blasting and re-painting it. I'll mount the door when I install the stove tomorrow night more than likely.
