84 270DA w/twin 185 mercs....

Tail I think your fuel #'s are a bit high and all the docs I've seen show the boat weighing around 7k not 10. It doesnt really matter tho cuz either way I'm gonna run the "ish" out of it.
I believe berth control said his 27' was 10K on the trl.
Fully loaded my 26'DA was 9K on the trl.
My fuel flow numbers were based on 3500 rpm with a 5.7 at planeng speed. 1000rpm above or below 3500 changes the flow #s a lot. Thought you were maybe trying to get an idea of how expensive the 27' may be to run.
Twin V8's should be a pretty good power/wgt ratio. Should be fun holding it WOT and trashing it.

I wont be holding it WOT for long unless I'm trying to test the fuel gauge. I should have access to it by this weekend and I'll have all the paperwork and surveying taken care of by next weekend. Hopefully September and October are nice...

lookin at your sig....it would appear safe to assume that you finished your motor swap. Am I right? Hows it running?

So.... where was this boat? I mean, you know, just so I could check it out? I hope it works out for you! Sounds like a GREAT deal. I would just make sure the marina has a salvage or abandoned vehicle title so it's free and clear when you sign! Man, where were the deals like this when I was buying? It's such a good time to be looking, prices are low and there are deals everywhere!!

LOL! I hear you man. This will be a huge blessing/gift/whatever you wanna call it.

The boat has been under wrap and racked at my marina for the last two years. The PO had a slip for 6 years prior to that so he had most of the work done by the marina. The marina owner likes me for some reason, he goes out of his way to hook me up with whatever I need and he was a like a father at christmas when he cut the wrap off and told me I could have it for what the guy owes. So basically I get a boat that is in really good condition and just needs a bath and probably a tune up for lets just say less than I spend on my yearly dock fees..:) (wheres the snoopy happy dance smiley? LOL). I've known about the possibility for a while now but he's been waiting for all the paperwork to come thru so that he has title in hand before he passes it on to me.

I would have to say that the next time I'm in the market for a boat I'm gonna start with the marinas and see whats been abandoned. We have a good number of nice boats that just couldnt be paid for for one reason or another. Work, family issues, medical issues or all of the above. I know he sold a nice running 87 Cruisers 32' Elegante for 2500.00. I wanted it but he woluldnt sell it to me cuz it had V-drives. Thats what I mean when I say he treats me like his kid. He wont sell me ANYTHING I dont need and what I do need, half the time he finds a way to give it to me. I love my marina and the people that work there. Its not the prettiest but its by far the friendliest and fairest I've come along.

yea, mine weighs about 10 on the trailer, I estimate the trailer is about a thousand pounds, not two. The numbers from the archives are way low - no options, base motors, no fluids, no gear, ect.
