58 Sedan Bridge Official Thread

I haven't posted much because we are still waiting on our boat to be finished after hurricane Ian. It just had scratches on the stb side, needed stb rub rail, touch up the bottom pain, replace the striping, and replace the little window out the front. Took it in on March 5th.

Anyway, they are down to the striping and the little window. Does anyone have a source for that window? It's the small polycarbonate one. The wind ripped the front windshield out of it so it needs replacing.

Ken - I got some acrylic about that thickness from a plastics shop in Chattanooga. I would think there would be something like that around here as well...Here's their info...

There is also a place in Florida that Capt Rusty turned me on to. Ocean Dynamics USA, Miami, FL 305-770-1800
They do removal and installation as well

Thanks. I’ll call them both. Supposedly the yard tried to make one, but it did not work.

You might have to send them a cardboard template that they could cut the plastic to.

I have an AB 12 with a 40HP ETEC, and I think when I ride up with it, I'm at 1000 Lbs (total - not me!!), and it seems to do OK.

@missnmountains - did you get the boat back from DYS yet?

We have a 480my under contract. It has the factory hydraulic swim platform. It comes with a small dinghy but was wondering if it can handle our seadoo, it’s dry wgt is 800lb so I would guess it about 900 ready to go.
What do you’ve think?

I think you should be fine. I had a 480 previously and carried dinghies that were 1000lbs+ without any issues.

I think the 48 'MY' may run a little bit different.

The yard is going to send them a picture and the model. They said they can cut it based upon that info. Do you remember how much is cost?

Hi Ken, I don't know the cost but I'd be interested in what you find as I'd like to replace my hull sides as they are starting to craze.

58DB with gray hull, tied up at Safe Harbor South Harbour Village in Southport, NC. Member here?

Nice looking boat. Seems like it must be a later build than ours, since there are some differences in the cockpit seating and transom storage...

The gray hull looks to me like what Sea Ray should have done if they wanted to name a color "pewter." Our "pewter" hull is brown, not much like the metal of the same name...

I think the ‘08s and subsequent had the Davit compartment removed, the cockpit seating moved back a foot, and a refrigerator/freezer unit with a barbecue added in front of the left side of the sliding glass door.

That is correct. At least as I remember!. Again, we keep getting told it will be done next week. Heard that for the last 2 1/2 months.

My 2007 52 Sedan Bridge extended platform does sag towards the aft slightly. I believe you can adjust it.

It can be easily adjusted up, using the large nuts on the two jack screws on the lift.

It can be easily adjusted up, using the large nuts on the two jack screws on the lift.

Loosen the aft nuts, place a couple of fenders under the platform and lower it until it “floats” off of the forward knots. Then take a turn or two on the forward nuts, aft, raise it back up, retighten the aft nuts and you’ll have your new angle.
