500/520 DB official thread

I'm having trouble with my salon door - it slides just fine, but it requires a lot of force to close so that it latches and can be locked.

I spent 2 frustrating hours yesterday trying to troubleshoot. I followed Taylormade's video for adjusting the trucks, which helped a little bit:

After close examination, I'm wondering if the weather stripping is the problem (see photo). I suspect that part of it gets in the way of the door closing (especially in the 2nd photo).

It doesn't look factory, and I'm wondering if any of your 520s have the weather stripping?

There is no weather stripping on my doors. This does look like it was put on afterwards.

This may not be exactly the right place for this question but ive done a search with no luck. Does anyone know how to adjust a TNT hydraulic swim platform ? Mine sits less (lower) than flush to the flat area of transom. Ive looked on internet as well and cant seem to locate any adjustment. Help please.

Today I fixed up my Gray Water Sump box; cleaned, resealed all the loose fittings, replaced the lower float switch, replaced the gasket around the lid and installed the missing lid bolts...

I think most of the 52s have GHS lifts so
There may not be much knowledge on this thread for TNT lifts. You may want to try to start a new thread with the question to get a better response.

I have been developing the same issue with my GHS but haven’t got around to addressing it yet. Is there some adjustment points anyone is aware of or is this a bigger issue?

On the GHS lift there is a threaded rod up under the swim platform For the lift bracket attaches to the platform. You adjust the nuts on the threaded rod to adjust the height of the platform. You can do each side Individually to level it out.

no matter what I do my sump gives me trouble every few months I started dropping in some non chlorine tablets that seems to help keep it clean however I’m going to rip it all out soon and replace it with a sump that has an external pump and electronic float switch.
When it fails to pump the water out it squeezed out the seems and down into the bilge behind the washer setting that pump off. My galley sink drains overboard so that took a lot of the junk out of the sump but it’s a terrible set up.

My fresh water pump crapped the bed over the winter storage so I bought a new one and installed it. The old one was a little bit bit loud and a little annoying when it ran but not unbearable. The new one is way louder, I think it would wake me up if someone used the head in the middle of the night. I went with a high GPM and high pressure pump because my wife and daughters like it to be like home.
I thought I saw in a previous post someone had their pump mounted back in the stern bilge near the rear of the water tank. Was that a factory location? Mine is next to the washer/dryer under the galley. It is a little hard to get to where it is. I am wonder if it wasn’t factory and you moved it did you moved it for any reason in particular. I was thinking of moving it back there to help mitigate some of the sound in the cabin when it runs.

I replaced mine as well, and it was also loud. I bought some vibration absorbing material and mounted the pump on that, which helped a bit. 3 months later that new pump failed, so I bought a variable speed Johnson pump, and it is very quiet.

I also got advice from the local yard - don't tightly zip tie the water hoses, leave them loose. Apparently when the hoses don't have room to vibrate, it makes more noise....

Mine is located in the stern on the “platform” above the fresh water tank and is factory. It is #13 in the parts diagram

Where is your water tank? Mine is below the lazzarette and the pump is next to it by the steering gear. Decking is removed in this picture.

My fresh water pump is in the factory location in front of the Central Vacuum system in the Laundry Room. I can hear mine running but not overly loud.

The PO installed a Jabsco AquaKing II 3.5gph (I think that’s the size) and it has an Accumulator Tank which minimizes the cycles and surges of pressure.

I noticed certain model boats have the fresh water pump in the engine room and others have it in the Laundry. Not sure why the different locations.

I assume you folks that have it in the engine room can NOT hear the pump run?

The previous pump was a shurflo variable speed pump. It was pretty loud when I bought the boat so I put extra rubber feet under it. I may check out the Johnson pump. The issue I have is my wife and Daughters want a lot of pressure so I need a high-pressure pump. You know the PSI and gallons per minute on the pump you have?

This is where I was thinking of mounting it. Seems like a better spot to mitigate the noise. Do you hear the pump much when it runs?

My Pump is in the same location as yours. It is interesting that some 52s have them mounted where ours are and some are in the Stern near the water tank.

Generator loud? I have read from a couple of you folks with the 48/52DB that the generator is almost unheard except for the water splashing outside. I can’t say mine is that quite.

I wouldn’t say it is loud but I can definitely hear it wherever we are on the boat...

Do you guys agree that you hear the generator running even in the master stateroom?
