Just had the outdrive bellows replaced on both Bravo 3 drives. Port engine overheats after boat gets on plane above 3000 RPM's. Replaced the raw water pump after inspecting the old pump & found the impeller was intact & in good shape but there was some scouring on the old housing. My last boat developed Bravoitous and I installed a through hull water supply and installed the blocking plate on the transom. I am wondering if something could be wrong with the water hose at the outdrive after the bellows were replaced. I don't want to convert to the through hull unless I am sure it is a collapsed hose between the transom. A mechanic told me it is advised to split the outdrive every 2-3 years and check for blockages even though he didn't feel this was the issue. He is recommending the through hull conversion. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
