Does anyone know where the stereo cockpit amplifier is located? My subwoofer is making a funny noise and I believe the connection is loose.

Thanks!

Hi Jon, I'm shooting in the dark on the location. Perhaps, if it's not under your helm, as you come down into the Solon and turn left to go aft to the guest cabin, do you have dead space under your stair area ?
I think your on the right track for the loose connection though...Tim

Tim,
I looked but maybe I missed something. Happy to see your girl in her slip, is that the neighbor's boat next to you?

There is a lot of stuff and space behind the TV in those cabinets. I don't think it is under the helm. Try pulling off the access panels. Also, in the aft cabin there is an access panel to the back side of that space under the bed.

I think your right Jon, below your Solon TV, that cabinet(s) is a good starting place. Another thought, I had a humming/feedback noise coming out of one of my aft cockpit speakers. I pulled the speaker and found a bad connection....good luck.
PS : Thats a Dyer 29 at the dock with me. It's been in the family for decades. It's now my sister & brother in laws. Talk about a low maintenance boat....

Jon - Audio amps are behind the salon TV. Four philips head screws in the black mounting material surrounding the TV (four corners) will allow the TV and mounting material to slide forward. Watch the cabinet hardware and door stops up top when removing and reinstalling. Put a pillow or something on the salon table and lay the tv face down on the table. Welcome to the rat's nest of cabling!

That's assuming his TV is in the cabinet and not above it. I'm not sure what year it changed. I think 2008.

Thanks guys! JV II the TV is in the cabinet.

I'll check the speaker connection first and then remove the TV to get access to the amp if needed.

I took the speaker out, reconnected the wires and it seems to be working fine. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
