I have always heard, Sea Ray does not use zincs on shafts. They are insulated by cutlass bearings and insulator at transmission.

Just ordered replacements. I have 2 on each shaft. No slippage but would like opinions as well before I put the boat in.

Well as you already know I have shaft zincs. They were already there when I purchased the boat. Knowing how the shaft connects to the trans, I can assure you there is continuity between the engine/trans and the shaft via the trans output flange. My zincs were new in Sept of 2015 and the shaft zincs were half gone when short hauled in June 2016 and it was on the hard during winter for almost 5 months. The trim tabs and my small teardrop zincs on the TNT lift were also 50% gone. The transom pie plate was only about 20% eroded. Yes I am still tracking down and repairing bad terminal ends on the bonding wires. Most have been cleaned and/or replaced.

Khaos, The replacement cable that is to my PORT Trans/shift is teleflex# CC63332 Which puts it at 32 FT. After looking at the path they ran the cable and what Frank mentioned above, I would go up 2ft. on the length. (CC63334) I don't like how they ran it under the Reverso oil change system and then made a heard turn up to the shift bracket.

As for the Starboard, I cant find any numbers on either end of the cable. But it will be shorter than the port. How much, I don't know yet.
If I come across any more info I will post it.

THANK YOU Cherman! I will order them up now.. Should solve the problem.

I am traveling this week but need to order zincs. I know the site to order is boatzincs.com but I do not know the sizes. 2001 sedan bridge. Can anybody help a wandering sole? Thanks

Just bought from them for my 2002. Put the 2.5" on the shafts. The r4-a on the tabs. And the az24b on the hull. All aluminum for me.

I'm glad this came up. I've been wanting to switch to aluminum but couldn't find my thruster and GHS lift zincs. I see Boatzincs has them now.

I dont have shaft zincs either. You should have a galvanic Isolator for protection... we have one... I had inquired with a prop guy as well regarding shaft zinc, and was told we dont actually need them since our boat never came with them...

DC I agree with you. I hope Frank jumps in on his, but rumor has it SeaRay never sends them out of the factory with shaft zincs. I am thinking of calling them today and see if I can get a definitive answer.

I've pulled my refrigerator and freezer to clean them, i needed to raise the leveling feet to get it out from below the counter... I changed all of the water lines for the ice maker..

Has anyone ever had an issue with fresh water getting into the bilge/storage area that's below the guest stateroom bed? The area that has the 1' x 2' finger-hole hatch? I just launched last week and took out almost 20 gallons today. Discovered the issue end of last year (1st full season owning the boat) but haven't yet discovered the source. It's got to be either a fresh water line leak or somehow water getting in from outside?

So so now I'm trying to pull up the platform to the bed to access what I think are water lines running across the head of the bed, but can't seem to get platform top to come out. It seems to be secured underneath the corners. Anyone ever have to remove this?

Is it definitely freshwater? My boat has a salt line in that compartment from water getting in there at some point before I owned it. Four Suns also had this issue and determined it came through the porthole and ran down the wall. I assume mine was the same cause and haven't seen any water in there since I've owned it.

Definitely fresh water. And dry as a bone underneath the head of the bed, so rebedding the portholes in that room is next I guess

Launched our new to us 480 SD last Saturday. Did the sea trial and everything went well. It has been said by members here before, but what a pleasure it is to operate the 480. It is quite a bit bigger than the Silverton 37C I came from and can't wait to get back on the lake this weekend.

Welcome. QT sums it up. But it is said that without pictures we don't really acknowledge you :)
