Hi Russ,
I looked via search this morning for a 460DA thread and didn't find one.
I have been on the hunt for a 460DA for a while and am scheduled to go sea trial one 2/18
We'll see if this one works out
I have one, and I hope a 460 thread can get up and running with all owners contributing.
Will keep a watch on this one, here's hoping.

Russ,
There are eight to ten 460DA owners who regularly contribute to the forum but the 450DA is fairly similar and they have quite a few more owners here.
We've had our '02 model for four years now and keep the boat in the Lake St. Clair area. We use it a lot during the abbreviated
season here. If you have any questions, let us know.

The whole Polycarbonate job with a Seamark top was right around 5K.
The tv was mounted to the wall, and did not go in the shower. For the lift of me I can't remember what the installer used to attach the tv to the wall.
I don't remember the exact brand of the box but we ended up installing and extending one of these back to the box:

They do make an RF remote extender now, but thats going beyond my experience with this particular boat.
Russ,
The first improvement item on the list for our "new" boat four years ago was the navigation electronics upgrade but the second one was to address that stupid location for the salon TV. I know that they can hide a large TV above the fridge but you cannot view it from the recliner chair. So, mid-model ('03 or '04?) they started putting a flatscreen Zenith TV, in a curved cabinet, on the wall between the galley and head. It made a lot more sense but my original set-up was like yours. I bought a 26" Sony LCD and had the dealer mount it high on that wall. The viewing angle was fine and I installed a Bose Cinemate system with the two front speakers on either side of the TV. I placed the Accoustimass woofer above the fridge in a black cabinet I made that houses DVD storage plus a DVD player. The sound is awesome when you consider that the woofer uses the cavern behind the refigerator as amplification. I ran a 110v line (and cable) through the false ceiling, making an outlet box and the TV was plugged into that. But my galley valance runs farther forward than yours.
Although this set-up worked very well the first season, I explored the factory look and contacted the previous owner who just happened to have purchased that cabinet from Sea Ray but never installed it. So, we re-worked the TV location and placed it in that cabinet for a factory look. No improvement over the first try, but I like the cabinetry and it matched the maple finish.
The other improvement discussed was the Makrelon front panels above the windshield. We just added this last year and although there have been warning about Makrelon, it is amazing for its optical clarity. We have a hardtop so the Makrelon is in fewer pieces. I like it and hope that it holds up.

Hope the 460 Thread can get some legs. I have a 2002 460 with Hardtop and have been making plenty of upgrades. Installed new Garmin touch screens, new Garmin VHF and KVH Sat TV. Replaced all the TV's with LCD's and even added one in the cockpit. This winter I replaced the sound system with the Alpine unit and put blue LED's around the speakers. Also installed multi color LED's through out the cockpit where you can pick the color of your choice. We boat on Lake St. Clair in Michigan and often hit Lake Erie and Lake Huron as well. Look forward to getting to know everyone.
