Is the starter for the 490ce a 12v or 24c? I assume 12v?

Tried emergency start and that was the first thing I tried — sorry should have said that. I have plenty of voltage to port battery.Have you tried doing an emergency start? Might just be a low battery not giving you enough voltage to spin it fast enough to bang the bendix out. I would use the emergency start switch and give it a shot.
We discussed cruising speed recently so I ran some numbers this weekend just to confirm. Full fuel load (to the brim), water, 650 lb dinghy on GHS platform, four adults aboard. Cruise was around 19 knots at 2240-2245 rpm, but we were heavy. So I backed it down to 2200, lower than we normally cruise and it dropped to 16.5-17 knots.
My point is that there seems to be some additional "oomph" in the way our props are tuned in the 2200-2240 range with the 6CTAs. Leaving the dinghy off and a perhaps a lighter fuel load yields a cruise of around 20 knots. The engines don't appear strained at this rpm if the WOT is at least 2650, to 2700.
We had also run numbers on a recent outing. My engineer son was kind enough to help and put together the attached data.We discussed cruising speed recently so I ran some numbers this weekend just to confirm. We moved up from our 2002 340 with 8.1’s to our 2003 460 last fall. Absolutely no regrets: much better suited to our lifestyle and unbelievably easy to handle with just 2 of us on board! And by golly, given the price of diesel vs. petrol on the water, it is more efficient to run!Happy July everyone!
Well, we are finally moving up from our wonderful 340 Sundancer! We are in the process of purchasing a 2003 460 Sundancer! We couldn't be more excited! This very long thread is proving to be invaluable!
I would suspect your aft batteries in the 24V system. They should be starting batteries of at least 900 cranking amps (MCA). This system also provides power to the GHS hydraulic platform. I change mine every 3-4 years. Is there a fuse for the bow thruster and the trim tabs? I have very low power on the thruster and currently troubleshooting whether or not the trim tabs are powered from those batteries in the back .
Thoughts?

The fuse for the Big Boy solenoid that controls the power for the Vetus bow thruster, is rated at 500 amps I believe. It is found on the engine room transom wall to port, beneath the Racor for the generator. Check it but it is probably okay.
Also check the hydraulic fluid for the bow thruster. The reservoir is under the V-berth up front.
I'll let the electrical experts chime in but perhaps your 24V charger (2430) isn't up to the task and maybe that is why you have the red light. You should check the circuits and connections first to see whether it is something simple. I replaced my 2430 about ten years ago and replaced the 1250 (12V charger) two years ago. Also make sure the charging profile is set to the chemistry of the new batteries. (There is a little selector wheel at the lower end of the case and it will be set to position 5 or 6 in all likelihood.
As far as power to the bow thruster goes, I thought that earlier you said there was low power but now there is none? Just clarifying.
Do you have the Pronautic Promariner 2430P charger, or the Pronautic 2430 C3? I have the latter, older model.
We might have different chargers.
