460 DA Owners Thread

Anyone know if those of us with the 480CE engines can utilize the Mercury NMEA2000 multi-engine gateway to plug into the extra port under the dash and then go to NMEA 2000 on a Garmin to display engine parameters?
Yes, did it to my buddies 46DA 2003 last month, working great. He had a 4 port hub that was full, ordered a 6 port and installed it in that with no issues. Used a blanking plug to fill the empty port.

Did he get diesel data or just smartcraft data?

Ive searched extensively here on the site about this salon door and cant find anything. Even spoke with Sea Ray which didnt help much.

Our outer gliding door which pulls the inner door with it seems loose in the track, which causes it to lift from the back when you pull it across and it lifts above the little blocks on the inside door to pull it along.

Is there any way to secure the lower back portion (at the track) of the gliding door so it doesn't lift?

I've got the same problem and haven't really done anything about it other than open the door more carefully. I'm thinking that new rear track cars might help. Either that or larger blocks. Let us know if you figure it out.

Went down there again this morning and found that my rear suspended track (not on the floor but inside the molding), is cracked and its allowing the door to move off the floor track. Would need to remove the door in its entirety to get to this and replace.

I've taken the door off a couple of times, really not a very big job. I believe there is a kit available from Flounder Pounder with all the various wheel cars for our doors. Probably won't take over an hour to complete...

There appears to be one blank under the dash on my boat. Can I just plug in there and get cummins diesel data?

Yes the converter converts your normal vessel view data to nema 2k. So you then have to program your mfd what parameters you want to see. In his case we did rpm, fuel level, oil pressure and temp, water temp. He has Raymarine axioms

Getting closer....shrink wrap is off and survey is done. Only recommendations were electrical grounding, fire suppression system inspection and install a CO detector. Next up is bottom paint, launch, engine inspection and sea trial.

i was hoping you would say that — thank you! I plan to build a nmea 2000 backbone as well.

Did he get the boost and load percent or just the information available on the smartcraft display?

Good question, I did not check if those data feeds are even available from either the mercury module or if the MFD can even display them.

It's likely the Raymarine MFD will be able to display those parameters and more. If the Mercury module will pass along the boost and load in addition to the basic data that would be great and a work saver. Years ago I had to use Maretron gateways to get that data into my N2K backbone.

I have the Garmin MFD but hoping for the results you're laying out. fingers crossed I didn't buy the gateway just to find out that it won't work LOL.

Question for you all-does anyone know what (if anything) is under the flat area in the pic below? I would like to drill a hole and put a cupholder in it but can't find any way to access the area to see what lies below (I'm front of myView attachment 100909 radio)...

You replaced the Clarion with the Fusion? I’d like to do the same but want to ensure that I can fill the hole in. Did you get some sort of adapter plate?

Yes, used a piece of black starboard material to help fill the area from the old Clarion stereo. Going to switch it out fir the burl wood this year to match the helm.

Anyone here with the cockpit air conditioning add in additional vents anywhere like at the helm? If so, did you “T” off the original or ?

I added cockpit AC but couldn’t get a duct to the helm.
I solved that problem by tapping into the salon AC and ran a duct up and behind the helm to the dash area.
