Curious how you stripped all of the paint from your hardware. Did you have it blasted?Drilled some through holes for my second trim tab rams and can confirm no wood..

Yes my concern is it appears that water is leaking past one or more platform bolts when underway. My understanding also it there is no wood in the transom and that it is solid glass. When I had mine out of the water for my grounding repair in 2016 I had the opportunity to replace the hardware on trim tabs. some had broken off the heads so I had to grind out the old screws and repack the holes with marine tex. There was no wood present. That was an 06 44 and am sure the 07 would be the same. Is there a reason to be concerned? Is the hydraulic platform hardware loose and leaking?

I had mine stripped by the shipwrights doing my module project (nor sure how they did it). They thoroughly inspected it for security and wear n tear with nothing found so not bad for a 13 years old contraption..Yes my concern is it appears that water is leaking past one or more platform bolts when underway.
I made the mistake of putting in high end white carpet. Looks and feels amazing but I sh1t myself every time someone walks on it.. Especially if eating or drinking.. Spent a small fortune on covers which only come off if it’s just the wife and I.Going to replace the carpeting in the saloon this winter because the foam backing has struck to the engine hatches. Curious what others have done and looking for idea's i would like to do something a bit different after spending hours to clean up that mess

Did you use foam under the carpet again or something else that may not stick so easily?I made the mistake of putting in high end white carpet. Looks and feels amazing but I sh1t myself every time someone walks on it.. Especially if eating or drinking.. Spent a small fortune on covers.
In hindsight, a darker color carpet would’ve been smarter. Or even wood.

started on mine this past weekend with a wire wheel in an electric drill. Its going to take a while. What's interesting is that they were able to get at the inside of your platform supports that's a whole other task that I think I'm going to skip.I had mine stripped by the shipwrights doing my module project (nor sure how they did it). When I bought the boat there was slight leakage suspected around the mount bolts by the surveyor (water staining was noted). I had the shipwrights take a closer look and also check the torques and all was good. Turns out it was the rudders. Still not sure what caused the water staining around the platform mount bolts.
Had the rudders adjusted in situ but it still leaked so eventually had them removed, rebushed and packed and everything is dry now.
Surprisingly cheap to do and also surprised it was leaking on a relatively low time boat (500 hours total)..

I wish I read his about a month ago since my new nearly white Karastan carpet just arrived and having carpet, drapes and canvas with polycarbonate windows being done this week. I am planning on having a runner made from entrance to steps.I made the mistake of putting in high end white carpet. Looks and feels amazing but I sh1t myself every time someone walks on it.. (Edited) I also had vinyl put on the panel to the stbd side of the steps and also to the base boards around the galley floor which I’d highly recommend you doing.

I climbed back behind the generator and tightened all the platform bolts and I highly recommend finding a contortionist about 5ft 120lbs to get back there as I barely made it back and almost had to call for help to get out.started on mine this past weekend with a wire wheel in an electric drill. I think I am going to take some video of the area including rudders and see if water is somehow spraying towards platform bolts or something since I did see a few water drops on the port rudder shaft.I had mine stripped by the shipwrights doing my module project (nor sure how they did it). Carpet is on my list also. If the padding was stuck, was the carpet glued down and fit around the hatches or just a loose carpet ?
My friend Harold with the 04 420 just replaced his salon carpet with a gorgeous slightly off white cut pile carpet with a pattern that simulates a wavy sandy beach. He was only going to do the salon but could not help himself and ended up dong the entire boat himself. It is very striking looking but I could not bring myself to do the light color myself. I would just be too paranoid especially with the pooches onboard.I wish I read his about a month ago since my new nearly white Karastan carpet just arrived and having carpet, drapes and canvas with polycarbonate windows being done this week. First person to spill wine is banned from the boat!
