Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread
Jeff,
I went thru this with my 450DA a couple of years ago. While I can't address the 410 system because I am not that familiar with it, I can tell you that the 450 has roughly the same layout and challenges. We found that Dometic has acquired several marine air conditioner names. They have redesigned the self contained units like we have in our boats. Their new Vector Turbo series used a turbine style compressor and a new air handling fan. The units are more compact and much quieter and more efficient. As the old unit wears, the piston compressors get less efficient, so you will notice a marked improvement by just changing to the Vector Turbo style unit. I think you can get up to 16,000 BTU's in a 115VAC unit.........in the 450, it will cool the salon and rear compartment so cold in the summer that it is uncomfortable.

Where cost is a controlling factor, our dealer is installing some Webasto A/C units with the understanding that there is no local servicer, so if there is a board or compressor failure, it may mean replacing the unit. But, the oldest one they installed is 4 years old in a 340DA and it still runs fine. They sell 1 Webasto to every 4 Marine Air units in Sea Rays because A/C's just don't last long here.
Not on point, but hope it helps........
