410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

On our 410 with the h2o I but it tight against the transom. You can’t walk easily past the dinghy since as Stee said we don’t have the shelf. I am able to walk in the dinghy or sort of shimmy past if I need to get to the starboard side. Plenty of room to board the boat with it up on the davits though.

The h3o on a standard platform I’d imagine would have the same spacing

Not the best angles but you can see a bit of what i mean below.

Thanks, I have a similar setup and the exact same dinghy with a 20hp outboard. Hate the set-up. Looks like I will be reaching out to Hurley.

I got started on the off-season cleaning, polishing, waxing process yesterday. My whole body hurts today :)

I was greeted by my port battery bank being down to 8 volts after sitting for 3 months. I have 2 batteries that are 3 years old and the other 2 are 5 years old (I don't recall which side). So either way I'm not mad about it. 3 seasons seems to be pretty average for me and my low-dollar Duracell batteries. I'll probably replace all 4 over winter. Can't wait to haul those things up/down my ladder!

Mine die if they’re not plugged in within a couple months (if left connected). I don’t know where the draw is, my guess is topside bank gets drained by the plotter in standby and the SR systems monitor, and the cabin bank is probably the radio memory. Both those items bypass the solenoids, I believe.

I’m at the 4 year mark as well - time to go to Wally World and buy 4 new cheapo group 29’s. They last me at least 4 years and they’re like $80 each

New topic
My insurance company Windsor Mount-Joy (and I suspect other companies) does not allow space heaters or anything else elec. on the boat during lay-up.
I was shocked at the amount of condensation that got generated in the engine room.
Anybody have a effective non elec solution to eliminate the condensation?

I run 6 of these in my cabin during layup every year. They work great. Toss a few in the engine room perhaps. Though make sure you pull the plug and get all the water out first...

Unfortunately, the engines and even the fuel tanks (fuel tank will sweat internally too) will sweat a lot of moisture as they get cold overnight and don’t heat up as fast as the surrounding moist air. Think of a cold drink glass outside sweating. Same thing.

The damp rid might help but you’re talking about a lot of moisture. As long as it’s not pooling in critical spaces, not much you can do. The best solution would be indoor storage if available/afordable.

Portable dehumidifier? I run a small one here in FL in the cabin always. Will they allow that?

Hi Does anyone know the dimensions of the standard non hydraulic swim platform on the 410 EC?

Specs show overall length 4 ft larger with swim platform so I assume 4ft?

Thank you. No dehumidifier allowed. Used this a couple of years ago and water would freeze.

I'm not sure about the Express but the Sundancers had optional "extended" swim platforms that are 48" +/-. I think the standard platform was closer to 20".

Seems like everyone within 200 miles of me is selling their 400/410 right now! I spent some time on boattrader.com yesterday and was surprised to see 6 or 7 of our vintage 400/410's for sale. I'm always perusing what's out there and have never seen so many, all at one time.

Perhaps a lot of people looking to move up? Or thinking the bubble is about to burst? I guess I'll just have to keep mine a little longer :)

I noticed a lot of 410’s near us as well but the prices are still in the stratosphere (at least the asking prices, that is)

Yeah no doubt. And that's probably why so many are "listed"?

This one really has me scratching my head:

I'm addicted and watch mine too

When I was searching THE CONTINENTAL USA for my 1995-1999 450DA, choices were few and far between. (Bought mine in CA and shipped to FL, but she came with FWD & AFT thrusters, so that justified the shipping expense)

At this moment there are 3x - 4x the vessels available, listing prices are down today compared to 2.5 years ago by about 15%

Several have been on the market for some time now, and those long in tooth are dropping the listing price significantly.

The market is ALWAYS changing.

BEST !

Maybe a lot of them are like us. We bought when our daughter was younger and tended to go with us everywhere, but now in HS and she’s doing her own thing. Now we go where she goes, school, sports, activities. We used the boat a lot less last year. I’d imagine the pandemic might have something to do with it as more people are getting back to the new normal.

As far as prices go, everything is 30-50% more than it was a few years ago. I assume that would also affect boat prices.

We re on the other end of that (5YO and 2YO) so hopefully they like hanging out with us on the boat for a while, they don’t have a choice.
