410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

There is a guy on sea ray group in FB that makes the Sea Ray side or arch emblems mirror black anodized and mirror polish 316 stainless RGBW backlit emblems. Can light one up red and the other green for additional navigational lights too. His page is NAUTICALITE.
Each come with a Bluetooth controller so you can control it from your smartphone.

I think I will buy a couple of them once I'll get the boat.

I've been talking to him on Facebook and I'm having a hard time talking myself out of these. The SeaRay Yacht ones are 208.00 ea. (from searayman13) and these are 300.00 ea. I like that you can have them Red and Green at night.

Giovanni,

Yellow card, Yellow card - You are too new to CSR to be finding more ways for us to spend our boat money! :)

Sorry for this useless reply, but I just got my captains license and my head is bulging with “light and sound signal” information, so I have to let some of it out before my head explodes.

Obviously, those red and green signs can not replace your sidelights. Also, I don’t think its legal to have 2 green or 2 red sidelights. But, I doubt any officials will bother you.

He also produce stainless steel signage with led

Greetings:

I have an issue with my 1996 Express Cruiser 400 with a leaking freshwater tank. The tank will completely drain dry within 12 hrs of filling the tank. I cannot see where this is leaking and would appreciate any insight or advice from members that have experienced similar issues.
Thanks !

Dani-Lu, I should have explained better i guess. I wouldn't try to use these to replace my nav lights. I would never run after dark with red or green on the wrong side. That would be asking for trouble or possible accident. They would mostly just be a novelty thing for at the dock. Like my underwater lights. I do think they could help make you more visible after dark though.....

I honestly didn’t think anyone on this thread would. But better safe than sorry. I do think that would be very cool at the dock!

100gallons in 12 hours should be a very noticeable leak. Are you sure its the tank and need advise on where within the tank it might be leaking from - or are you still trying to find the source of the leak (tanks, lines, fittings, etc).

don’t think they meet the correct arc of visibility of your port and stbd running lights. LOL.

Well...one step closer to having my swim platform squared away. I splashed the boat on Saturday and delivered the platform to the marina doing the install last night. I'm hopeful it'll get installed before Memorial Day but it's not a sure thing. Not exactly the best time of year to try to expedite a haul out in Michigan :)

amazing. Can't wait to see the finished product mounted up. Keep the updates coming
Strecker25,

We had discussed the changes to our props this winter. I wanted to update you. The 3126's both now hit just over the 2,800 RPM mark on the tachometers. The boat gained 4 mile an hour my top speed is 29 MPH with ¾ tanks of fuel, 100 gallons of water and four people and gear on board for the weekend. I guess asking to get over 30 miles an hour is a stretch. But I think if the fuel was under half and the water tank was empty, I might make it. I cruse at 25 mph and 2350 rpm. At least I am not lugging the engines and I think it is better for them.

How did you do?

Also wanted to share with you some photos of a table I made over the winter. It is Teak. It opens to make dinning in the cockpit reasonable. You can reach your plate and fit 6 people around it to eat drink and play cards. When in the folded position it is the size of the original Searay table. I placed 2 mounting cups on the bottom to move the table away from the starboard side a little if you wanted to seat someone comfortably on that side. The Searay design only leaves about 8 inches to squeeze back there when turned the long direction. Then I added some legs to fold down a support the table when in the cup that is offset from the center.

I also updated the Navigation system and radar. It is not new, but a friend was updating his 2015 Sunseeker and I paid $800 for the two 12” Furuno MFD’s Radar and DFF1 fish finder. I am linking them to the auto pilot this weekend. They just fit, but it really looks like that space was designed to accept these units.

The only other item was I replaced the Cockpit TV with a new smart flat screen. they are so cheap now i throught what the heck! The benifit is I can feed the Nav systems information to the TV while under way, and everyone in the back can see where we are going, and when we will arrvie. Somehow I do not think it will stop my wife from telling me I am going the worng way, but it was worth a try.

Turkanon

sounds like you got her dialed in!

My tests:

WOT 2861/2849 with full fuel, full gear, 1POB, no water and was at 31.2MPH on GPS. Calm sea, 1' or less, no tabs. At that speed the engines are making about 25PSI of boost and have 850* EGTs

at 2400 2.5POB full fuel, full gear, no water, no tabs: 25.4MPH, 20/16PSI, 785/800* EGT

at 2300, 2.5POB, full fuel, no water I run 23.8MPH and 18/14PSI, 800/825* EGT (still working on getting boost up on the starboard side to reduce EGT

I think I am very close and happy with the progress. I want to reduce EGT on the starboard side to match my port, and I felt good running the boat between 2200-2300 at cruise. I don't do too many extended cruises, when we do I'll likely reduce down towards 2150-2200. The short runs to the sandbar I'll stick in the 2300-2400 range.
