My air compressor will recharge itself usually in the middle of the night waking us up, how can I disable it altogether so it doesn’t come on

On the compressor on my boat there is a lever that turns it off. On mine it says off or auto. Just make sure to turn it back on before you get underway or you will be without your horn when you may need it.

Is the lever located on the compressor? My compressor sits in the salon behind the couch on the starboard side

Better option might be find the leak and fix it. That would solve the running at night issue, but also cut down on cycling the compressor, extending its life. Might be as simple as a little soapy water and a quick tightening of a fitting.

I'd forget to turn it back on/off anyway...

Yes, there is a black box on the compressor and the lever is on that black box.

Try the find the leak. There should be a solenoid- activated valve on the tank, so any leak would be near the tank itself vs in the tubing to the horn.

Unless your earlier 390MY is different from my 40MY, the solenoid valve is located under the horn in the hardtop roof and accessible via the centerline inspection port in the cockpit overhead. If you've got a leak there you will likely hear it once you take down the cover. I found a picture of mine:

But, you should also check the pump area for leaks. There should be an air tank nearby fed from the pump, then a hose going up to the horn. The first air leak I had was from the bleed valve on the bottom of that tank having worked loose so I would check that first.

Horns are on the port side of the hardtop, pump is in the ER next to the Vacuflush pumps. I noticed the OP reports his pump is in the salon.

my horns are in the rode locker on the bow, if i remember correctly everything is up there.

I just pulled my manual and it says the horn is in the starboard chain locker. Mine must be custom or a very late change to the design. Sorry about any confusion I may have caused.

yep thats where mine is sir, I am a rookie and just thought that was standard.

I see the air tank I mentioned is up there, I assume your solenoid is close by as well?
Alnav I have that 390MY sold, moving to a 44DB . But I will say the market is on fire for a clean boat.
