My horn is fine when out front of the boat and the sound is fine in fog..It seems to carry fine...I tried it this weekend.....Why not just carry a couple of handheld air horns as back up.....is cost and loos of storage space worth it....

Sounds like they've found my horn defective and will be replacing it. Will be nice to at least have a working horn, although would like a fancy air horn some day. Too many other things to spend money on, like a real dinghy with more than a 3.5 HP motor...

Hi Everyone,

I'm having an issue that I would like to run by the group.

This past weekend I had constant issues with the carpet just inside the sliding door getting soaked. It is literally when you walk through the door. It's a rather large area that gets wet - it extends about a foot or so in to the salon and it goes to the left a bit, going under the entertainment center. It took 3 towels to soak everything up. I have also noticed some wood on the wall (corner piece) that is starting to separate at the bottom.

All of the obvious causes do not apply - nothing was spilled, not tracking in wet feet, no leaks, rain coming in, ect. What I have noticed is that it seems to be related to the AC. When I have it running for a while, it seems to happen at that time. I inspected the AC unit in the salon and there is nothing leaking, the pan is dry, and the carpet under the couch is bone dry. Don't know if maybe there is some duct work somewhere in or around the entertainment center that's sweating quite heavily? I also looked down beneath and there is nothing obvious there as well.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry for the long message.

Pat

My first thought would have been the compressor from the a/c under the port salon settee.....Did you look at the fittings for discharge/condensate drain.......Just to rule out another issue, has it been raining or you can rule this out......Were you running in high seas while you had the generator on with a/c on........

Hey WetPaint,

Thanks for the reply. I peeked under the port side sofa to look for anything obvious but did not see anything. The carpet underneath the sofa was also dry. I will give it another look some time this week.

Yes, it did rain quite heavily Friday night, but the wetness did not appear until Saturday at some point. Not sure if that is a big deal or not.

"High seas"..:smt001 No. there are no high seas on the grand old Mississippi River in SE Minnesota. I was actually in the slip for the majority of the weekend working on projects, including when this happened.

Thanks,
Pat

you might have a leak in the port side window...check the caulking all the way past the fiberglass heading aft......you might see it was from driving rain

Hey Guys,
Is there away to find out how many 36/39 db's have been built. Just like to know how many are out there.
Craig

Pat.....Did you find out where the water was coming in...I looked this weekend and I can only think of the drip pan and the hole being blocked

Hey Wet Paint,

I'm still waiting for a bit more info, but I had Marine Max take a look at it late last week and it sounds like there was a drain hole that was for some reason caulked over. There supposedly is a drain hole directly beneath the locker that is just outside the salon door. There was a thick white bead of caulk completely blocking that hole. He had to cut the hole open.

What I am not sure of is how water could have gotten inside the salon by not having this drain hole present. I've never had water collecting high enough back there where it would spill over the lip and in to the salon..

Hi again everyone,

I have what is probably a very simple question and I hope someone could take me to school.

I am wondering what the correlation is between actual engine hours on my smart craft display vs. the # of hours that the engines are running. For example, one day last week I had the boat out for 1 hour and 40 minutes. This equated to 4 engine hours. It was reading 91 hours at the start, and it read 95 engine hours the very next morning when I fired up the engines. I was cruising at a very slow speed in case speed makes a difference.

Thanks,
pat

Engine hours/Generator hours are based from the moment they start to the moment they are shut down........Whether you are cruising or out in the canyons trolling or at idle, the hours are based on actual time the engine is on.......If you sit at anchor for two hours with the boat on charging the batts, two hours of engine time.....hope this helps

Can anyone tell me the exact height from the waterline to the top of the all around white light on the radar arch?

I am looking at a few other marinas for next year and one of them only has a covered slip available..

Thanks,
Pat

Check your owner's manual. It should tell you in there.

Oh, and your antennas are pointing backwards. Point them up!

Doug

Thanks very much. KevinMC sent me the same info. Went out and downloaded the manual and found the diagram.

Yep, that picture was of the boat when it was delivered..Turned the antenna up right away.

Anyone connect their generator to Vessel View using the SmartCraft interface? It would be nice to see all the generator info up top while driving. If yes, what do you need and what functions are available?

Thanks

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Mine came connected, but it appears to be just a monitor. I can't see where there is any functionality from Vessel View. Anyone else have a different story?

Kevin,

Do you know where it connects to the Smartcraft system? Is the connection in the engine compartment? I would only add the connection if I could do it with a short cable and don't need to leave the engine room.

Thanks,

Kevin

I just upgraded to vessel view and would like to have the generate hooked up to it also.
If you find a easy fix let me know.
Craig
