36 Sedan Bridge Owners

Hi Greg,

I believe that the standard setup is for the fridge and freezer to be side by side. That is certainly the case on my SR 36.

The fridge is on a separate electrical circuit breaker to the freezer. They operate independently electrically.

I also have a problem with my freezer. It is cold enough but it is leaking condensate onto the timber panel and floor below. I haven't had time to fix it yet as it is down my list of priorities on my boat.

Perhaps someone else has serviced their own freezer and has pulled the freezer out.

You could check the basics on the freezer. Is it getting power? Check the condensate drain. Could be a thermostat. You could get an airconditioning and refrigeration technician to give it a service and diagnose the fault. It might be cheaper than replacing the freezer.

I will know more about the freezer in another week or two as I will have investigated my own unit by then.

Regards Jason
Thanks... I am also very interested to see if they are truly one inseparable unit, or two separately operating units.

New Question from a new owner. What is under the port side love seat in the salon?

I am afraid to muscle off the cushions like the starboard side does to access storage.

Did you happen to dig around in your freezer? Is the freezer truely a separate unit, or is it permanently mated to to refrigerator in some way? When you pulled yours did you see any in line fuses or anything?

Mine seems to not be getting any power at all, but the breakers are ok.

Anybody know the specs or the brand and model of the fresh water pump, or a good replacement?
TIA

Thank you JasonP!
My pump is pretty loud, do you know of an alternative?
Also, do you know if its safe to upgrade to a pump with greater GPM, or higher PSI? (aside from faster water usage)

I am not sure about alternatives. I would be wary of upgrading to a greater PSI due to the pressure rating of standard piping and fittings. Upgrading the pump might have unintended consequences eg leaks etc. In regards to noise you could fashion some sound insulation around the pump mounted on the wall under the stairs. I havent done that but I have heard of people doing it. I presume you know how to get access to the fresh water pump? You need to lift the stairs. I have a reasonable knowledge of the fresh water system given that I changed my fresh water pump and flushed out all the lines. My issue was not the pump itself but rather all the filters and strainers in the outlets ie shower, toilet basin, kitchen sink and even the outdoor shower on the rear swim deck was blocked.

Hi Greg,

Apologies. I still havent got to my freezer. I am still working through the higher priority items having only purchased my boat a few months ago. I am still working my way through the engine maintenance tasks. I will get to the freezer at some stage. Not a high priority here in Australia as we are still in winter and I am not using the boat for overnight stays. Will let you know once I get to it. I have a commercial air-conditioning and refrigeration business so I am sure I will be able to figure it out.

2 Quick questions.. I hope.

1. My entry lights will not turn on, and my lights on the stairs will not turn off. Is there a quick fix for this, or do I need to do a hard reboot of the eplex system or reprogram the eplex system?
2. Separate issue. Is there a way to turn on/off the back lighting on the toggle switches located by the swim platform door and on the bridge that control the outside lighting? The lighting of the switches seems to be attracting alot of bugs at night when in port.

Thanks for all your assistance.

Just an FYI because I have been asked about module locations in the past.

1.The EPLEX system is very sensitive to low battery voltage.
If you can verify the batteries are fully charged and the system is not responding, do a hard reboot.
Also, if a light is ON when the batteries are turned off, it will remain ON until you turn OFF the light WHILE THE BATTERIES ARE ON.
2. Great question. Please post if you find the answer.

Here are a couple of helpful documents for all Eplex owners:

Hi Tom,
Do you happen to have a guide as to where to find the individual modules in the boat?
For example: My boat's Eplex system reported that Module 274 is missing or inactive. I have located this module at the helm or bridge area, labelled as N17. I am trying to find modules 260 and 562.

Thank you.

Jess

Address 260 is N19 Module #31
Address 562 is 428 RSP Module # 32
See above post for locations

Wow! Exactly what I need.

Thank you so much, Tom.

Hi Tom, I just checked and I am already a member of that FB group. Very informative indeed. I just happen to be scanning this thread and saw you uploaded some ePlex docs so I inquired further.

Thanks again.

Tom, I appreciate the modules information as well. My partner and I have had a few ph appts with Nautitech to replace modules through a video conference and the display would have been really helpful then. We are not dealing with the generator not working and it appears to be something to do with a module as well, even though we don't show any module failures. I located your FB page and have sent an inquiry to join. Thank you.

In the four seasons we have owned our 36DB, I have had to replace the Generator Solenoid, Impeller, and reboot the EPLEX system. My current problem with our generator is the data is not appearing on vessel view. What exactly the problem with your generator?
