I have an '88 340 Sundancer that is in mint condition with less than 400 hours on it's twin 454,s it has never been in salt water
I'm retiring and want to bring it to Florida and Use it there in salt water.
Am wondering what sort of issues and problems I will have using this boat in salt water.
Thanks
Larry

Initially there will be no problems... You will need a good bottom paint and zinc anodes... I would recommend using prop speed on the your running gear... In about 3 years you will need to change your exhaust...

A little more preventive maintenance and a few more dollars down the line but other than that enjoy.

Where in FL are you thinking of retiring with the boat? Moving from fresh to salt should be easier, although more maintenance as stated in other posts. I have head friends move from salt to fresh and have issues...

Thanks It's going to Naples..and will be "out of the water" most of the time..
I've read that flushing the engine after each use is a good idea..
The cooling system on it would be "open" .. in that ..
it will surely use raw water for cooling the exchanger, genset and engine.
