340 SUNDANCER THREAD

We have a tool like that, which is almost a necessity:) It's really good.

- Has anyone figured out a good place to mount a grill? I am considering drilling a hole for a rod holder and using that as its mount.

I mounted mine on a threaded pole that screws into a flush deck plate on the swimplatform. The plate is low profile (not a trip issue) and has a locking button so the grill doesn't rotate. I through-bolted it to the SP. It's on the SB side of the platform.

My magma flusch mount is under the ladder cover ... It works great... no need to put on the platform.

we use a rod mount for our Magma grill on our 215EC and it works great. we just bought our 340DA and it also has rod holders so we plan to continue to use them to mount the grill.

Ok, I plead stupidity but I can not figure how to release the small TV ('05 340 Dancer) that is on a pull out mount in a cabinet on the port side above the sink/counter area from the travel lock position. Really haven't messed with it in the 6 months I've had the boat until last weekend because there is a large bulkhead mounted flatscreen that gets the usage. I want to pull it out so that I can replace it with a small flatscreen HDTV.

If it is the same slide out as in the 280, there is a little lever, in the center, about an inch back from the curved wood cutout. I removed our TV as soon as we got the boat and use that cabinet for our Keurig.

There should be a catch accessible from the hole under the TV. I find it much easier to unlatch if I push the TV back in towards the wall at the same time I release the latch.

I plead stupidity also. But for the reason that I have no idea how to get a picture on either tv from the TV antenna. I have never hooked to cable and am not really interested in watching tv at a marina. I have the gain switch all the way up (the one in the wall cabinet). I have let the tv's auto program but that does nothing.. Any suggestions appreciated?

In mine, which is an '01, I have to have the accessory switch turned on to power the glomex antenna gain box. Your cable might have also come lose or disconnected from the antenna. I think this is fairly common. Its an easy fix if you have the special tool to tighten the connection to the glomex antenna on your radar arch like mine.

Anyone have an idea what it costs to redo the cockpit upholstery?

We had the rear seat back covered recently at a cost of $850, they did an excellent job including logo. Also had the half circular bottom cushion done for $250. Hope that helps.

In addition to the above advice, if you still have the original tv's you may either need to install a digital converter or invest in new tv's with built-in digital receivers.

I am purchasing a 2003 340 with 8.1 v-DRIVES. The boat has 3 blade props which seem to cause vibration. I was told to go back to the 4 blade. Here are the suggestions I received from different people:

18x18 on one side and 18x17.5 on the other (depending on gear ratio of tranny)

Searay said factory the boat came with 28x22 so that was obviously their suggestion

Another said 18x17

I dont need the boat to be fast, I want a smooth, fuel efficient ride.

Thank you all

Although the props are not original, vibration can also come from a prop with bend or a cutlass bearing going. I would have some one take a look at it to verify.

Had a survey done and he told me the boat would run alot better with a 4 blade. Smoother, better fuel consumption, etc. I just want to purchase the right ones, hoping anyone can chime in with what props they use. He is not a mechanic but the props would have to come off to verify they are balanced, etc.

why question the company and their engineers that designed and built the boat?....they know better than anyone what size a prop should be for best all around performance which is what you are looking for from your questions....the only time you should ever think about changing props from the OEM recommended sizes is if you wanted to enhance a specific performance attribute of your boat such as 'better hole shot' which may be important to boats that pull skiers or are frequently heavily loaded with people and stuff...IMHO for best all around performance stick with the OEM props....

i installed a 28" flat screen LED HDTV this WE on our boat....i tried to get our local channels but ran into some issues....when i turn on the 'gain' switch for the antenna in the lower storage cabinet under the TV the red light on the gain switch does not illuminate....i am assuming this is the A/B switch that switches the TV input between Cable/Satellite and antenna....i am not sure if i am using the antenna as the input for the TV or not with the gain switch turned all the way up since the red indicator light is not illuminated....i have the 'accessory' breaker in the switch panel turned on....

should the red indicator light on the gain switch be illuminated when the antenna is selected as the input source?...is there something i am missing while trying to activate the antenna as the input source for the TV?

Thanks.
