Curious if anyone has had this issue. When putting boat in gear at idle my starboard transmission makes a knocking noise almost like there is play in the way it hooks up. It goes away once I give a little throttle and doesn't always make the knock, usually only when on a cold start. Twin 8.1's 2004 340 500 hours fresh water boat.

Paul, change your spark plugs on that engine. That should fix your problem.

yeah...it's doesn't have a 14' beam either....I'll find out tomorrow...going down to look at it in the morning.

Boats been listed at 79,900 for months....sales guy told me that the owner who's in Florida called and told him to list it at 60,000 and sell it...we'll see.

I did did pending Survey and mechanical inspection.......boat hasn't been used much and the motors wouldn't pull much past 3500 on port side and 3100 on starboard....owner has to fix that issue before we go farther.

we we were thinking maybe fuel too.......mechanics gonna check it out..

sidenote...this boat is at Table Rock Lake in southern Missouri.....couple of slips down from where it is is a boat with Knot on Call for a name...had to do a double take for a second.

Havent heard anything from them yet....it was gonna be a day or so till they got to it.....expect a call tomorrow....I was told by a guy today those motors eat plugs and are finicky about fuel filters too :huh:

For example - there is no storage under an '03 to '08 340 salon sofa...

I have a new (to me) 2006 340 and the manual I downloaded for that year from searay says that there is, in fact, storage under the salon sofa. Believe me, I have tried to find it..and now I read this and so..there isn't? I will feel less of an idiot if that's the case!

I have a 2002 340 and I have recently taken out the stock 12" TV/VHS unit and replaced it with a new flat screen mounted on a locking swivel arm on the forward closet bulkhead. Does anyone have a suggestion for the space the old TV/VHS unit occupied? Pictures would be appreciated.

I bought a sheet of the laminate sray used and made it into a liquor cabinet. Looks like it came that way.
