Hi, i have noticed in the last 3 weekends that the carpet in the galley gets wet (fresh water) just in front of the forward pump between the forward pump man whole and the mini stair to the main galley corredor next to the main stairs.

at the beginning i thought i had a spilage but then after recurring a few more times i realised this was not the case.

it always happens after a whole weekend using the air conditioning and anchored using the generator.

both the forward pump and the shower sum pump are working perfectly.

could this be just condensation? or what else could this be, and how to solve it?

many thanks

Yes it could be.. The condensation from your AC flows to the shower sump. check the line from the sump back to the AC, and check your AC compressor. Also check to make sure your shower sump drain is not clogged. It needs to be cleaned periodically...

thanks i thought so, i will check, i also noticed that the surface around the shower sump pump is quite wet, i thought the water from the AC use thi channel to get to thefurther down pump and then sucked out

Try using a shop vac to clean the lines and sump...

This is the trick! Just the buildup of shampoo and soap from the shower collects in the lines and the pump well. Makes a big difference on evacuating the water faster since I think the line runs slightly uphill above the waterline in our boats!

Check the fittings to the shower sump box as well. Water ALWAYS finds a way!

Good luck!

Hi, I checked th pipes coming from both the shower and the A/C an they are fine and clear, I dried the floor very well to identify where the water is coming from and it comes from the square hole next to the shower sump pump, i did not manage to find out exactly where the water is coming from, I just saw a bunch of pipes and wires, what it is for sure is that the water is coming from the A/C and not the shower as I did not use it. How come the water from the A/C gets that way?

Hi, just spent 2 days traying to find the fresh water leak, first, I must say that the way SeaRay designed this is an absolutly pain in the butt, all the evacuation pipes that go from the sump pump and the forward bilge pump to the hull are set like a maze!!! the shower enclosure sits on top of the pipes and there are at leaste 4 or 5 twist and turns, why they designed that why is beyond believe.

anyway, I still have not found the leak issue although I just manage to find a lot of water in the compartment next to the storage area between the hull and the underseat storage compartment behind the shower, it seems that the actual problem is a fresh water pipe (the one that runs from the engine room to toilet bowl, I still not sure but I now started disrcarding different causes, this is driving nuts!!

I will keep you posted on my quest to find this leak!!!

Does it get worse when it rains? I chased down something similar only to find that it was one of the starboard side window seals. It would rain and create a slow drip but over time a lot of water can accumulate in the sump area.

I am not all that familiar with the 340 layout but you might want to check the fresh water manifold and the fittings in the galley. The fresh water fittings are notriously leaky.

Hi Guys, many thanks for the suggestions, after almost 3 weekends of work and discarding one thing at a time, I found out that the actual leak comes from the drainage collector in the shower, the metal/plastic piece is all corroded, now the big question!! How do you change it!!!

I am guessing I have to bring the stairs down to be able to reach it?

what a pain in the butt!!!

This is a good question... I looked on the parts manual and don't see an easy way to access the bottom. Seems to me you can either try pulling your refrig, or through the stairs, as you mentioned. I would first try to remove the 1 1/2" drain from the top, and see if you can pull the hose into the shower to replace it from the shower compartment...

Hi Guys, I finally solved the problem, it was the sump shower discharge pipe that was pressed between the top of the vessel and the mid section, I guess this was a mistake when Sea Ray built it, the pipe had a 2 inche crack.

So you all know, there is an access cover just underneeth the bathroom door, it is not easy to spot as it is covered by the carpet and you cannot see the screws, this will allow you access to the shower drainage, still a pain in the butt as you still have to remove the toilet completly.

I will be posting the pics soon.

Glad you found it and are going to post pix.

As an aside, I was going to suggest you check the dogs on the porthole in the galley. In the 1999 330, it is behind the microwave. Mine leaked and besides the floor getting wet, it destroyed the lower shelf in the galley cabinets and delaminated some of the cabinet itself.
