I recently acquired an Alpine drop down dvd playes. Our boat didn't come with the aft cabin player. I was considering mounting this back there. Does anyone know how the ceiling is put together back there? Is there a void that would allow the mount for the player to be screwed into? How would the power cables get routed? I'd hate to run screws up into that area and then see the ends of the screws poking through the non-skid at the helm.

Following this. Been wondering the same thing myself. I have briefly looked at this and it does not seem that there is a void up there. Curious how SeaRay did it.

Just a thought here but how about calling Sea Ray?/QUOTE]

We think alike :) I did call them. The customer support person said they didn't know how to do it. They said they could send me their build specs/diagrams which I think I found online and there's no mention of a rear dvd player in the after cabin area in a '04 340. Maybe it wasn't an option then. A dock neighbor has an '06 which does have one. I'm going to keep digging.

Dale aka MasterFab, knows how to do it, and how to run the cables.../QUOTE]

I'll see if that Dale is willing to PM or maybe will catch and eye to this thread...

Thanks all....

I would guess that what you found online was the parts manual. The technical drawings are much more detailed and may provide the answers we are looking for. I habe not been able to find a good number for SeaRay, but have tried to email with limited success for another issue. I do not believe the aft cabin TV became an option until 05 or 06, but I also do not believe the boat was constructed any different to accommodate the option. Please let me know if you find out anything. I may try to explore this further when I am at the boat this weekend.

You're correct. I just checked the document that someone sent to me and it's a parts manual. FWIW the rear DVD isn't listed in that year. I'll try again for the technical drawings to see how the boat is put together.
