3.0 Sea Ray dies at idle

Fully seat the metering screws (gently!) counting the turns on the way in for reference. Now remove the screws completely and blast the hole with carb cleaner from the straw(watch your eyes). You should get flow from a hole near throttle plate and an air bleed in the ventury area. Blast these exits too if you can. Take turns blocking these exits with your finger to get passage ways cleared good.!

I did exactly that, and it worked!! Thanks a ton for the advice, much appreciated. Took her out today and ran like a champ!!!

The boat shop left me a message that I could pick my boat up tomorrow. Said that they adjusted the idle to within specs and that my RPM gauge was reading 100RPM higher than actual. That would explain why it was idling rough when I thought the RPMs were correct.

They said the bill was $82? Shouldn't that be a Mercury warranty issue?

Hello all, newbie here with a 08 175 Sport with the same idle issue you all are describing.....runs and idles fine when cold but try re-starting after being warmed up and it idles very rough or stalls. Recently brought it to my Sea Ray dealer for its 20 hour check (just bought the boat with 5 hours on it) and for the idle issue. They claimed the timing was off 1 degree and was a set up issue at its first SR dealer. They charged me for this as it was "adjustments" and not a warranty issue. Was I taken here? When I bring it back for the idle issue again, shouldn't this be covered under warranty? Thanks all for your help !!!!!!
