Staying dry

3M eraser. made just for taking off stripes, got it at the local parts store, had to ask for it , they hide em in the back sometimes. It took 2 wheels to do all of the stripes on that boat, don't forget the arbor.

Well I think I am finally ready going to "SPLASH" for the first tine tonight and see if it float's. The lower Fox River is no wake due to high water but I just want to check things out. Tomorrow I hit the Chain which is wide open as on now and see how she really runs.

Well she floats and doesn't take on any water so I guess I did the bellows right. She ran a little hot about 190 so to day I pulled the t-stat I had mistakenly put a 180 stat in I looked in the box I kept the parts and found a 160 deg stat so I think I need to wear my glasses more the 180 and 160 look the same with out the glasses. Defiantly a learning curve with this boat. Found a few places I can't go where I was able to go with the Formula but the water is high. She ran out about 32mph with 4 people on it is that about right?

Daddubo,

Since we are both on the chain, where couldn't you go with the water so high? I'm hoping you and I can still go under the little Grasslake bridge north of Petite. I took my arch off this year specifically to go under that bridge.

I couldn't get under the rt 173 Bridge by Webb Marine to get to Channel Lake & Lake Catherine and Beer can Bridge which I should of remembered how low it is. We got to the chain around 2:00 with my nephew and his girl took them on a tour around the channels from Fox Lake to Grass Lake to Lake Marie to Bluff Lake and anchored out for a while in Petite Lake. We were going to spend the night but the wife saw lighting so we put her on the trailer (not my wife the boat) and went home around 11pm. We will be coming back out on Saturday and going to the Fire Work's at Mineola on the 4th . We hope to stay till Monday. We launched at Baja Bennies (formerly Costello's and the Gold Nugget) on the east side of Fox Lake but we are looking for a place that is easier to find for our guest with a Bar & Restaurant to launch at on the Fox Lake side do you have any Ideas?

I always used to launch from Ben Watts in FL. Great ramp and parking, but a little on the expensive side. Other than that, the State Park is awesome! I little bit of a drive and a long channel to Grasslake but you can't beat the price as it is free to launch and park. Plus you can picnic there too.

I hope to be out next weekend. I will drop you a PM letting you know when and where.

Finally getting her cleaned up I had 2 1300rpm buffers both took a crap so I went to Harbor freight and got one of theirs they have them on sale for 34.99 and got a 20% off coupon on line then bought the $9.99 2 year warrantee cheap deal, it is a 200 to 3100 rpm unit. I should be done with from the Blue down by Friday and will start on the top side next week sure is a lot of plastic to polish.:smt101
