Thanks for the insight Cliff and sorry for stirring the Hornets nest. My friend has a 340 in Daytona amazing vessel.

Hello All,
Still on the fence with pulling trigger on 260DA 2007 vs. an older 2005 280DA.
For those of you that have had the 260DA with the listing issue upon planing, have you found that the market for the boat is soft at resale due to prospective buyers being afraid of the listing problem? If you traded the boat, did it hurt its trade value?
Thanks!
seat backs in full upright position and tray tables stowed.......this could get a little rough.....
I cannot answer your question, but I can tell you this...We have had our 260DA for almost a year now and have put 50 hrs or so on it. I have read and researched the alleged listing issue. Personally, I have never had the problem. She comes up on plane and cruises 27mph at 3850rpms. We spend a lot of nights on the hook and travel fully loaded most of the time. This past Sunday, we took our first trip of the year with a minimal load as we only went for the day. The only difference in performance was a little quicker to plane and 1mph more at WOT. Rarely use the tabs and have never experienced the grief that some people complain
about. Good luck with your search.

I only experience the list in a strong crosswind then a quick push of the tabs and it's resolved, sure the wider beam on the 280 will be more stable but on my 260 it's not an issue.
I had an '07 260 before my 320 and I experienced the listing issue the first day I had it. Once you get used to it, it's not a big deal though. Just as you take off and start coming on plane, you trim up the engine and it corrects the issue. It eventually becomes second nature.
As we all know, bigger boat bigger problems and with two engines, everything is doubled, but if you can afford the two engines, I'd probably go with the 280 due to the wider beam and ease of controlling at times with twin screws. Good luck

Thanks again for everyone's insight. I put the deposit down on the 2007 260DA and now have to scramble to find a surveyor! Has anyone added a seat cushion backrest to the starboard side rear lounge. There is a removable bottom cushion but no back. I'm contemplating making one. Wife says is uncomfortable for the person sitting in that spot.
I've thought about the same thing for that spot. I just ordered this throw cushion I'm going to try out in that spot.

I don't think you will like the SR throw cushion as a back support. I tried it on mine and didn't like it.

I'll share what I come up with. I have to get maximum seating out of that lounge and that spots got to be a backbreaker when underway.

Ive got a seat back cushion there on my boat. It has two snaps at the top edge that hold it in place and allows you to flip it back onto the top of the fibreglass edge so its out of the way when you need to raise the engine hatch. I'll post some photos at the weekend. I guess it is simple but effective. Your canvas guy should be able to make up something similar without breaking the bank.
