260 Sundancer Thread.........Comments questions and answers

I am interested in buying (2nd hand) the 260 option COCKPIT SUNPAD FILLER WITH TABLE. We would like to get a couple more rug rats on the boat for sleepovers and the sunpad will do the trick. If anyone has this setup and they care to part with it, please PM me to discuss further.

Hi, great thread. I have a 2006 260da...i am looking for photos and ideas for new camper canvas. Does searay make one or is this an after market item. Also looking for pricing. Any info would be great.

The camper package came as a factory option. Go to the sea ray web site and it may have some photos.

I have the camper canvas. Extends the season for sure.
Love it

Hmm Never heard of this option.
Let me know what you find out.

Did i see a photo of an extended rear bimini for extra shade on this forum. I have a canvas guy who said he can extend the rear bimini to 6 inches before the transom without having to drill the framing into fiberglass. I am looking for more shade but dont like the frame of the camper bimini top. Looking for a photo of something similar.

I have seen postings involving other larger model Sea Rays where they did what you describe but never on a 260DA. You might want to start a separate posting on the subject so some of those people can give you their thoughts on the matter.

This is on a different model boat, but maybe the idea you were thinking of.

For our more moist area I've thought of something similar, but less square than above. I'd like to keep the same lines as mine but have a brow kicked back over the transom.

Warning: ignore the unpolished mess my boat looks like. This was her maiden voyage for us right after we bought her.

Beach71bum, you have a difficult time finding someone selling the optional pad. Very few new buyers actually got that option with the new boat purchases. I looked around for over 2 years hoping find one and even looked on salvage boats. I finally went to canvas shop got one made for my boat.

I did end up doing something a little different from the factory version. I am currently taking it where the base has built in Starboard with a founding hing. That way I do worry about 1/4 round table and have multiple storage areas. It all folds up into one single unit. I am sure any canvas shop in your area could build one for you. The nice thing about our model boat is that Sea Ray used some common marine vinyl and you get the "fabic numbers" from parts catalog on the Sea Ray web site.

Question on a 2011 sun dancer 260, does anybody know where the VHF radio sits (not the head but the actual body that plugs into the VHF cable). Stupid question perhaps but I don,t want to rip the boat apart looking for it. Thanks
Dave

Hi guys,
Awesome forum. Our family finally purchased a Sundancer 260, and had our first trip in Sydney Harbour on Saturday. Loved every minute (other than my first attempt at mooring as it is our first ever boat and was quite windy). looking forward to meeting lots of great people on here, and learning all about the 260 (275 in Australia).
have a great Easter everybody.
cheers.
andy

I'm going to be updating my stereo on an '07 260, I'm curious where exactly the wired remote cable from he radio the helm runs since the new radio uses a different cable (two more wires). Before I start removing interior panels it appears it runs out to the bilge on the port side and crosses over to starboard then goes back forward to the helm. Hard to tell since it disappears into the darkness under the port side lounger.

Anyone ran a new remote cable to the helm on one of these?

I had the port side panels off several years ago to install wiring for my bilge heater. There were no other wires that I noticed in this area. I had to drill a hole in the rear bulkhead for my wiring and I can't say I noticed any other wires coming thru the port side of the bulkhead either.
