It's tapered. I agree, why did they make it so tall? No idea...
Definitely tapered. I agree, a little high.
How tall are you guys? If it's anywhere close to the height of mine, it's too short.
Have any of you guys cut down the table pole that is up on deck? I have no idea why SR but the table so high but i'd like to cut it down however when i look at the ends of the pole they look tapered. Is this just an illusion or is the pole really tapered?

Need help with battery selector switch and starting procedures:
I have a 2007 260 and this is my first year with the boat. I understood that I could start the engine with battery 1, and then use battery 2 while on the hook for stereo, head and water pump. That way I keep battery 1 isolated to ensure restarting at the end of a day at anchor. What I've found is that the engine will only start with the selector on both batteries.
Would appreciate some insight into other's procedures... The boat only had 40 hours on the engine and extremely well maintained when I bought it earlier this summer (batteries on trickle charger off-season and connected to shore power and internal batter charger during summers). Don't know if they are original or if they've been changed. However, I suspect that they're original. Do you need to start with both batteries? If I do use battery 2 while anchored, am I risking the ability to restart the engine?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
The next time you are anchored check the voltage of both batteries before starting your engine using the LED display on your tachometer gauge. I am betting you will see the batteries somewhere in the 11 volt range, especially on the one you are using as a house battery.
My own personal experience on my 260 is good batteries will still maintain a reading in the 12 volt range while on the hook for several hours. When mine started dropping into the 11 volt range I could not start my engine either with the "house" battery.
Given what you are describing, I would just replace them if it were me so you don't get stranded somewhere.
Grimm. In fresh water I wouldn't even lose 1 minute of sleep. You have many seasons ahead of you IMO.
I think there are two posts on board of different lengths...one for the bow table in the cabin and one in the starboard coat closet. The one for the bow table is longer I believe.
Does anyone have the optional sun pad filler cushion where the back table goes and if they do is it worth 400 dollars?
