I stole this idea from one of our members here (jim065). I wanted a windlass on this boat, from the time I bought it.
The 2006 240 da doesn't offer a windlass as an option...so I adapted this and walla here it is. So far it works great. I had a wireless remote installed so I wouldn't need the bow foot switches, there is a switch on the dash also. It all works great.
The anchor locker lid was beefed up with marine ply and glass, glass, glass. Then it was bolted down and 4200 to keep the water out. The nose of the boat had to be reshaped to fit the roller. It is strong, my glass man (Mike Digh, Anchor Marine) over did it on my request.
The nav light was removed and seperate lights were installed, they were wired to the existing wiring. Well, I hope "we" thought of everything, and beefed everything up as strong as could be imagined. I guess time will tell. Wish me luck! haha
