240 Sundeck Thread - Questions and Answers

All I had to do was move the mounting location of the gas strut. The side mounted to the floor I moved 4 and a half inches towards the hinge and the side on the to the hatch I also moved 4 and a half inches towards the hinge. That keeps it right around straight up and off of the chair. It should be as good as it was since all I did was drill new holes and use the same hardwear.

Hi all, long time lurker and I've learned a lot, thanks! Finally in the market to buy something now that I sold my other toy. I found a 2006 240 Sun Deck, Mercury 6.2 with Bravo 3, has the bench style seating rather than 2 captain's chairs, 175 hours, fresh water, all white in color, includes a trailer, $25,000. Seems like a decent price but was hoping for the opinions of other's?

I haven't checked the NADA on mine in a while, but that seems like a decent price, depending on condition of course. Got any Pictures? I have sometimes wished mine had the bench seating instead of the co-pilot chair, as mine spends 99% if its time turned backwards for the wife to watch kids anyway.

As I and others have said many times, the 240 Sun Deck is a great boat. We love ours.

Hi all, brand new member with more than likely a question that has been asked way too many times. Wife and I are picking up our new 240 Sundeck this weekend, and it is equipped with the standard Merc 350 MAG with Bravo III outdrive. What is a "realistic" top speed with 4 adults and one "fur kid". This will be a 90% salt water boat stored on trailer, any advice on proper engine flushing other than what comes in the manufactures recommendations? Thanks! Oh...also any options on larger Bimini top?

Welcome aboard. Great lakes would be the place for the top. Would est somewhere around 50mph for the top speed.

Welcome to the club, my 240 with the same power plant tops out at just about 47. And the 350mag/B3 is not standard. a lot of those boats around here have the 260 hp/ alpha drive setup.

What kind of air pump should I buy for my Sundeck 240? Want to pump up floats and tubing quickly. I don't want a wimpy little pump.

Thanks guys!

Have a 2000 Sundeck 240 and want to swap out entire nav light assemblies with a LED replacement. Does anyone know of where to buy and part #?

Hello again..Wife and I took delivery of the 2015 240 Sundeck and have been out on it twice so far. Very happy so far although the recommended break in has been a pain in the butt (avoid RPMS below 1500 getting out of harbor). I will see if I can post a photo, I'm new to this. Thanks to all whom passed on great advice.

Yup I did mine. Try WestMarine, Atwood 3500 series. I got the 2mile, since they were cheaper than the 1 mile.

Perfect fit replacement, just remove cover screw and then 2 screws hold fixture to deck. The little button on top glows when they are on, so you can tell from the helm that your lights are on. love them, since the original standard bulbs got hot enough to burn kids hands.

Thanks so much - exactly the info I was hoping for. Ordering some tonight.

thanks again!!!

Interesting reviews on the Attwood led nav lights. Not the greatest ratings. Corrosion and premature failure were noted.

Yes the reviews are interesting. Like any product review I read, i try to remember that they have probably sold thousands, and the people most likely to review are the 4 with a problem.

I don't work for Atwood or WestMarine. I just know that the lights were a perfect replacement for the factory originals. I have had mine 3 years with no problems, and they were easy to install.

No problems for me ever with any Attwood products. I have the led lights and they are superb.

Just bought a 2004 240 SunDeck tonight. 5.0 engine, great condition, 188hrs and will be kept at Triton Marina on the Elk River of the Chesapeake Bay. This is my 2nd 04 240...never should have sold the first one we had. Made it not quite a year without a boat.

Should have it at the marina by mid next week and will be on the water asap!
