230 select

Let me get some shots of it "on the lake".....maybe "action shots". Then I can pick a nice one for the signature.

I'll also try to include my "perfect woman", who was the driving force behind the financial negotiations!!!

And no sister

Thanks Wesley.......I will post some more pics in the near future [/img]

Beautiful boat! I love the flip up back for the sunpad to make a full length lounge. Looks fantastic with the wake' tower as well!

Now thats what I am talking about. Love the new seats. The flip up in the rear is great. The Bravo III looks way to clean lol. The wife and I are jelous.

You got one nice boat there. Now watch the sratches

So far we are loving.....

The flip couch feature

The front seats are on hinges, making underneath access much easier than seats that fit into slots

The Bravo III Magnum 300 HP.....enough said

The tower is so tall you never have to worry about bumping your head and I'm 6'2"

The tower keeps the tubing ropes out of the wake and it works effortlessly pulling me on a wake board at 6'2" and 255 lbs.

The bow has virtually no splash coming over, even with the swales I've made in the water

We have about five hours on it now

That is a great looking boat. I love the tower and the flip up couch/sun pad.

We were cruising across the lake yesterday at 27 mph and 2 people sitting on the rear couch/sun lounger.

Don't think that's recommended, but it worked fine.....lake was pretty smooth.

Guys and gals......the "perfect pass" is worth every penny and then some! What a relief as a driver to not fight a throttle for wakeboarding (and other activities).

Sweat looking boat
You're the 2nd person who said the perfect pass was a major plus. Will have to see about on my next sport boat.

We just floated a new 230 powered by a mag 350 with a B3. It is in its break in period but we are completely happy with every aspect of the boat. Did a little wake boarding with no problems keeping it less than 4000 RPM’s. Did a lot of research and this is what we came up with. Good luck!

You mentioned something abut rerouting engine wiring to the port side?? Why did yoy do this?? Just curious... Just finished doing a complete service.. That damc coolfuel module is a sob to get to the fuel filter... My advise is get a long, really long screwdriver.... They made the oilfilter really easy, but the water seperator is hell.. Im only 5'8",, couldnt imagine a six footer trying to fit in the starboard battery hatch.....

Other than that I still love my 230.....

I have a new 08 230! It is powered with a 350 MPI mag and a B3 drive. Had it out 15 hrs so far late this season. Came from a 190 with a 3.0 A1 so right off the ramp it was so sweet. Took it up to 5000 rpm’s briefly and saw 52 mph.

Do not need the speed most of the time but nice to know it is in place if needed. The ride is so much better than the 190 with most impressive tight turns.

Speedometer never worked but I will get to that sometime otherwise all is perfect.

I would say the 230 is definitely high quality so go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Does any one have the port slider seat on their 230? We found it to be a bit too low in height. Thinking about raising it but not sure how. Just do not want to block it up like an old chevy pedal.

Starboard bucket was too high; a hacksaw took care of that one by about 2 inches.

I have the same setup, and agree the port seat is too low.

I haven't fixed it yet, but thought of adding a 2" high piece of composite plastic cut to fit to raise it...maybe next season.

And I also have the same operators seat modification as you...at the stock height I was looking right at the windshield frame, and my feet would dangle, I guess it is only because I am 6'2".

I am 6' 4" and over the rail so 2" came off that pipe. Admin might see this and come up with a raise kit for the slider seat. I need to look at it a bit closer soon; the throw cushion is not a good material to be sitting on. Otherwise what a great boat!

The wife and I had a 2004 220 Select with the 350MAG, great boat, great powerplant, no tower. I'm sure it tows wakeboarders and tubers alike with little or no effort. The tower makes all the difference in the world.

My favorite feature is the sunpad, that is the only thing I miss from my 220 Select to my new baby. We got the filler cushion for the bow, but it doesn't seem very sturdy. (I'm sure it's fine for my 16 year old daughter, but if I got up there with my wife, I'd be afriad of a failure.

Very nice boat you bought there. I'm sure your eagerly awaiting the spring thaw! We are counting the days to May 15, that's when Rumblefish makes her way back on to Chautauqua Lake.

Did you get all your issues figured out with props and power, etc?

I have an 07 230 Select, my boat is set up with the fision package with the 350mag, bravo III, fision wakeboard tower, polk audio and etc. We put 55 hours on it this summer and love it. We boat on the lower Potomac River. I have an 8 year old and a 5 year old who love to tube, I have boarded behind it several times and have a 300lb friend who came up on ski's with no problem. Only problems, are related to the bolsters in the front seats, the glue came off that holds the cushions on. They were fixed during warranty.

If you have any specific questions, please let me know.

Mike

Hello,
I own a Searay Fission 230 with a 6.2 MPI engine (custom installed by Searay) for a year now. I did 72hours on it last summer. I love it.

But I replaced the prop, it was delivered with a 28 pitch. Which was to slow in acceleration for monoski. Now I installed the 24 pitch duoprop. Much better acceleration..:smt038
