Anyone ahve a new 230 select ? How does it ride and tow tubes ? Quality product ? I boat around Ohio now and FL in the winters.

I have 23 jet boat and the workmanship, ride etc not very good. No trim, cheap trailer and at 2 years old falling apart.

Considering one right now......46K.......lots of nice features...... perfect pass, tower, Bravo 3 w/dual props, "couch" seating in the back facing the rear of boat (to be used when stopped or putting around), 260 hp, sirius

It's my understanding that the 220 Select is being phased out. I thought the 230 was a new style, but I read on this forum about a guy buying a 2002 model.

I will be giving up a 2002 Chaparral w/ only 137 hours.......but NO TOWER

I would like to ask the same question as thread starter.......Any comments from owners of a fairly new 230 Select????

Guys welcome to the board and good luck with your searches. I am pretty sure we do not have any 2007 230 Select owners here yet. Maybe you could be our first!!!

The newest version of the 230 has very little in common with the previous generation 230/240 BR. Mine is even older, but shares some hull commonalities with the prev. gen. I have poked around the latest version, but don't have any seat time in one. Our dealer's had a 350 Magnum/Bravo III.

We test drove it today.......so we got 45 minutes or so in it. Pulled my 12 yr old around in a tube from the tower....He loved it (he is an extreme tuber...if there is such a thing)

My lake neighbor has a 2005 Select 220 and I really felt like this was a LOT more boat......especially inside

Opinions on:

1) That pricing at 46K?
2) Any worries about Sea Ray working the "bugs" out of a first year style change?

You have to ask yourself how much you like it more than the 220 Select. My dealer has a 2006 220 Select with 350 Mag with 32 hours with a list price of $33,000. Just something to think about...

As for bugs you will have some bugs to work out with buying any new boat. The good news is most of the dealers do a great job of standing behind the product and will work through your punch list items, to keep you happy!!!

What you may want to do is price the boat on Searay.com and see how much off of MSRP you are. My goal would be close to 25% off MSRP.

Good luck with it.

Thanks for that advice. On Searay.com you cannot "build" and price a 230.....not sure why......but you can a 220.

My dealer has a 220 for 4K less than the 230. I am not interested in the 220, but I used that as a guide, adding 4K.

Anyway, MSRP + options already on the boat = 59K (including the 4K increase) less the 25% = $44,250.

Dealer asking 46K......trying to convince my wife to hold off, but she is ready to pay the 46K

That's normally 99% of the battle! Buy the boat now before she changes her mind!!! You have found the perfect woman.

Close enough, buy the boat; and then rush back here with pictures as they are almost impossible to find pictures of on the net.

Bought the boat.....being delivered this afternoon. It's black and to my surprise it's the Bravo Mag at 300 hp, not 260 hp.

Will take some pics this weekend.......any quick advice on how to post pics?

congrats gizzard! Sounds real nice.

You must put boat info in signature and post pictures within 48 hours of receipt or run the risk of Wesley blocking your access to the site!

Congrat's on the new boat!!!! Can't wait to see some actual pictures of the new 230.

Congratulations on the new boat!

For your pictures, it's probably easiest to open a free account on Photobucket.com. Then you can download and resize your pictures at the same time and hot link them to your posting here on CSR.

Here is some info for posting pictures:

You can go to www.photobucket.com and sign up. Its free. Once you upload your pictures, you copy the code from the IMG line directly on the post.

e.g.

Once you post it, the picture appears.

Per Gizzard's request...see his new beautiful boat!!!
