Received my new 2006 205 Sport (leftover) yesterday! Great boat, great experience with the delivery from MM. Here's a pic after it was lifted off the trailer and about to be lowered into the water. I will be using rack storage but don't know if I want to watch this again? So far the only issue was a non-operational trim gage which the dealer is coming to fix on monday.

Good looking boat. Great pics in the VM

Thanks Kev88...is there anything I should look for in or on the boat...potential problems...suggestions...ideas...anything? I am a first time boat owner so this is all totally new. I guess I mean is there anything specific to the 205 sport I should be aware of?

Thanks again.

Congratulations! We took delivery of our 2007 205 Sport in March. We've been waiting for the good weather up here in Seattle. Looks like it's finally coming. We've only got 5.3 hours on the boat so far, need to up that number big time.

We also use a dry storage facility. It is nerve racking watching them move your boat around on their overgrown forklifts, but the guys at our marina are very careful. I don't watch anymore.

As far as the 205 Sport. Our's has been perfect, except for one of the nuts that holds the windshield on was loose, so I checked them all.

Enjoy your new ride!

We've been pleased with our boat - One reason I like the 205 Sport is the traditional Sea Ray Sport Boat look it has. Good power and handlling with the 5.0L.

Some items my dealer fixed no questions asked....

-two split grab handles
-gel coat cracks in the ski locker by the drain hole
-one small bubble/blister on the diamond floor
-center gauge cluster backing had pin holes in it showing light thru at night

Since I purchased I've added two rear speakers and stainless steel cup holders.

I get alot of great comments on the water and on the trailer!

Enjoy!

My bud Matt (here on clubsearay as slacker-rarely shows up) has the same as you except yellow. We raft up almost every weekend at the lake. Planning a few boat raft up weekend right now. He likes it "ok" so he says. He is out of my will.

I love the 205, we ordered ours last year and have 22 hours on it now. Perfect for the size lake we ride on, lots of power for sports, and roomier than I first thought it would be with so much storage area and built in cooler. Plus we just added a monster tower which helps with hanging towels and stuff on it when hanging out.

Good luck with it! Great looking boat.

I am making an appearance:)

I am pleased with the 205 sport overall. Although I do see some things where quality could be a bit improved. But for the money it was definiately a good buy. Mine was also a 2006 left over that I got in August of 2007. Just got back from Lake George and loved every minute on thing. Money well spent.

You will always find minor repair things. Just make a list so you don't forget them. The little things add up quickly.

Congrats!

PS> So far the maintenance has been relatively painless. Winterizing is just a bit time consuming because you ahve to take the whole back apart to get at the spark plugs. Other than that your good.

Did you put all of those thoughts together by yourself?

As Slacker said, make a list of all the things you find and get them fixed. I'm a procrastinator by nature and now all those little things wrong with my boat won't get fixed. Actually, I'm in the process of fixing them myself...not as easy.

Ya you do make a valid point. He's my neighbor...

:smt100 God save us all!

2 miles away is not a neighbor. You could never replace Al! Never!

Haw!

Have fun last night? Hangover? Tell the truth how cold you were riding the hog back home!

Maybe ya'll noticed, maybe not... but this thread is about 14 months old...

Then I definitely dont feel bad about hi-jacking it!

How 'bout those Mets?

Another than the fact that I had to chizzle my balls from my gas tank it was a nice dark ride home. No hangover... I only had 3 beers since I was riding.

lol...see ya saturday.

SHould be awesome...no kids to watch in any of the rafted up boats! Ahhhh.....
