2015-16 Football thread - any team banter welcome.

You still have to win to be 15-1. Any given Sunday...that's why they play the games. The teams you think are great... how many have 15-1 records? The Patriots...a team you think would beat the Panthers.... lost to crappy Eagles, crappy Jets, crappy Dolphins. Honestly man, lol...!!

Fivethirtyeight.com has interesting analytics. The say the Panthers are the weakest 11-0 team of all to do the feat. I wish this was updated for the season. LOL

For all you St. Louis fans it really sucks to lose a team, in the PNW we know how it feels after losing the Sonics to that creep from Oklahoma. They tried to move the Hawks & Mariners in the past saying we didn't have a football or baseball fan base. Try buying a ticket for a Hawks game now, owners need to create a winning philosophy to fill stadiums not rely on other teams revenue streams to make money.

After a couple winning seasons the Mariners got the tax payers to pay for Safeco field it was filled for the first several years now attendance is down, wonder why they think people will pay an average price of $31.00 a ticket to see a losing team play. That's around $250.00 for a family of 4 for tickets, parking & some peanuts to watch a losing team.

The NFL, Baseball & Basketball need to pay for their own stadiums and quit stealing our tax dollars to build new stadiums for private owners profits.

I think the NFL has made a big mistake again, what team is going to get taken from their fans to fill the Rams spot in St. Louis?

Again sorry to all St. Louis fans, hope the Rams have many losing seasons in LA not because the Hawks are rivals because the NFL is greedy.

appreciate it....it does suck...two time losers here....I wouldn't expect another team to come here after all this....not that we don't deserve a team (I believe we've proven that if you put a good team on the field we'll support it)...just wouldn't be fair to other cities. As far as continuing with losing seasons in LA I don't think we have to worry about that...Stan's record isn't exactly exemplary.

AZ could be the team in the NFC. Sometimes momentum carries a team and that is what continues for the Panthers. No matter what I am looking forward to the games this weekend.

Remember the Rams were moved from LA to St Louis...

In the end I think there is a chance that the Chargers may look towards St Louis if San Deigo does not work out and right now it seems unlikely.

I agree with the AZ comment. The Seahawks have their own momentum going in. While they did not look so good Sunday, it is hard to look good in minus 0 temperatures.

If any of you fans missed Russell Wilsons unreal play beginning with a botched snap, losing 5-10 yards, being chased by multiple defenders, getting away, creating space to throw, AND completing the pass for the first down. WOW. Watch the video if you have not seen it. I saw it live and rewatched it several times just to digest all the components of the play.

I love DVR where I get to chose my own replays and still catch up to live the next commercial break. I watched every snap of the college championship, didn't start watching until 10 pm, and was live before the final 8 minutes. Love it!

Stan is a piece of sh!t of the lowest order. He is a ruthless dirty lowlife. The NFL? Liars and cheats.

That play has been played & re-played here locally & on ESPN with Wilson explaining his thought process, when you break it down the composure he showed to not just fall on the ball for a loss but to know who was chasing him, secure the ball & scramble out to find an open receiver is one of the greatest plays I've ever seen. I'm not saying this as a Hawks fan but as a fan of football, Mark Brunnell commented that there has only been a handful of quarterbacks in NFL history that could have made that play in those weather conditions.

Baldwins one handed catch is another highlight that's as good as any ever made.

I'm glad the Hawks got the win but do feel for the kicker, with what's been stated about him missing & how he feels about it it's embarrassing that fans want him run out of town & worse.

For many of the "new breed" owners this is a hobby/business, something to do with so much money they cannot spend it, all while they oversee a financial empire that allowed them to buy in in the first place. The franchises have become so valuable only true multi-billionaires can even think about buying in. That is why I like the old school owners like the Hunt family, Mara family, Rooney family, and Irsay family. Yes, they are also billionaires but the team and league is a top priority in their lives, most of the newer owners just bought a toy they are not true football and community people. It will only get worse as the tax code gets tougher for families to pass down the team and the values of franchises continue to escalate.

Now with LA having a team the bargaining chip in other cities will be "give me what I want or we will go to St Louis. Think Chargers or Jaguars...

Say goodbye to the Cleveland Rams, LA Rams, St Louis Rams, and say hello LA Rams... Does that seem repetitive?

The Browns just hired Cincinnati's Hue Jackson as there new head coach. A brilliant and lucky strike for the Browns.

We now have a bet in the office as to how long it takes him to accidentally blurt out loud, in public....

Northshore, Richard has been pretty quiet this year, compared to years past.

One thing that struck me as being indicative of what these guys are (Russell and Richard) was how they dress for the post-game press conferences. Russell usually shows up in a neat suit. Richard was in a tux last time. Classy. No old sweatshirts and jeans for those two.

Thats good to hear!
He is so damn talented. Settling down with age possibly.

Ron Rivera, the Panthers coach, should have been fired after 2 of the past 3 seasons by the standards some teams use. They now have been rewarded with 15-1 season. I say that to point out the Browns must stop this insanity of changing coaches so often or they will never get on track. Bill Belichick made a point recently, in response to a question about Chip Kelly being fired, that it takes 4 years to instill the culture a particular coach wants and to acquire the players needed to run the new coaches system. It is beyond unreasonable to think a new coach should be able to win with the players the old coach couldn't win with, but a few have been able to, so that becomes the expectation.

AMEN.

But then you add in the 'unfathomable' draft picks that have been made along the way and it starts to look like the front office just wants to torture the new coach and keeps coming up with new and interesting ways to do just that.

Most dysfunctional franchise in all of sport.

But, Hurray! It's next year!

He lives about 5 miles from us, in the last couple years he's became a father with his long time girl friend & has a son who just turned 1 you can see in his press talks & personnel life what a dramatic change has taken place in his life when he speaks of them, he has devoted all his spare time to family and charities he's set up. He is not the person portrayed in the national press at all if anything he's become one of the finest roll models for youths in this area.

It can happen and that is awesome!

I dont know if you remember Albert 'Joey' Belle from the Cleveland Indians but he was a real, and I mean real a hole!
Now he is like a totally different person.

Then there is Johnny Manziel..... (but I believe that part of the new coaches deal was contingent upon getting rid of him :smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038...)

I think a big part of this seasons Manziel issues was orcastrated by him to get out of Cleveland. He didn't like it there and I feel he either knows or thinks the Cowboys want him. Jerry Jones wanted to draft him and still makes commènts about him that could be interpreted as wanting him. Those same comments should be "tampering" but the NFL would never call out JJ

Thats pretty much the consensus in CLE. The city is now pretty much split on whether we should just release him or hold out and trade him for a used jock strap or possibly two.

You 12's are some wild and crazy guys...

What size heels you wear MM? I'll pay & ship a pair to ya as long as you post pics on here and facebook of you in them with a skirt on.

By the way the owner Lisa Strom is a relative of the original Seahawks Owners Group the Nordstroms & Stroms. Stroms owned Schuck's Auto Parts that was sold to O'reilly Auto Parts. Schuck's Auto Parts sponsored my first funny car in 1967 a 1966 Barracuda with a 671 blown 426 hemi AA/FC that I flipped in 1968 at Half Moon Bay in California destroying the car.
