Boat Info
320 Sundancer
Engines
T-6.2's V-drives
I have looked around the forum to see if I could find some reviews or thoughts on this model but am coming up empty. I am looking at possibly upgrading from a 320. Anyone have some info good or bad they care to share? I really like the layout in the cockpit and below as well as moving up to diesels. Thanks!

I've been on this boat a few times and I think it has some pros and cons.

Pros:
-Good cockpit layout
-Full glass windshield
-Two heads
-Good engine options

Cons:
-I think the cabin is very cramped. The large bulkhead with the TV makes the cabin tight. I also think the aft seating area is tight and would be uncomfortable for overnight guests.
-headroom in the cockpit is a bit low
-Price. The 450 isn't thst much more and I think has a better layout. It does lack the second head, but it's a more open floor plan.

I'm not sure if they've done a review, but check out BoatTest.com

Has anyone had to get to their autopilot pump located aft of the generator? I have a small leak in mine and there is no way I can get to it short of removing all of the exhaust!

Hey Ken, The Hydrolic Pump on Goliard II (2000 380DA) had come loose and was only held in with the wiring and hydraulic hoses. I was able to weasel in behind (in front of) err... between the transom and the Starboard engine. Only had to remove the starboard vent hose. Got really greasy from the steering gear etc. and it was a real pain. I had planned to build myself a little removable bench back there but I got in a hurry. Just ended up laying down a blanket and going for it. Bring a magnet down with you and a helper to hand you tools. I am near 200lbs and it was a squeeze. If you are claustrophobic, hire a skinny guy ;0) I built a platform for the pump and re-fastened it. Painted everything when I was done. I have pictures but I can figure out how to paste them, or attach them, here.

Thanks for the reply. I am not very tiny (down to 6' 2" and up to 230lbs) and have lots of metal in my spine so I don't squeeze into tight spaces like I used to. My CATs are a bit larger than the 8.1s so there is probably much less room to access my autopilot pump. I figure I will be removing a few exhaust hoses to access it.

Ken, It was a squeeze for me, and I think you are right about the Cats. Probably even less room for a slightly bigger guy. It might actually save you time (and ambulance extraction) to take a look at moving some exhaust. Take Pictures! Just FYI, I was working on a friends van that had lived out East. The brake lines were rusted beyond hope and a couple had "Bubble" flares that were past my ability. I found a really cool place in Martinez called 'Source Tubes and Hoses'. Just a little one horse shop, but the guy that runs it (Joe) is a true craftsman. I brought him the rusty POS lines from the van and he worked me up all new ones from scratch! If your 'small leak' turns out to be one of the hydraulic lines, Source Tubes and Hoses might be worth a visit.
