Islandhopper, those are some wild waves in one of your shots. What led you into those suckers?

Thoes waves were from a small squall just off Grand Bahamas, West End. We had to go thru thoes to get to Old Bahama Bay Marina. It was a couple of miles of them, as we run onto the bank. Sometimes when you cross the Gulf Stream, it's unpredictable. The crossing was mostly calm. 1-2ft most of the way.

Wow that's wild for sure. Do you have any more photos of that encounter?
In our area, we get some large swells once in a while, but they're usually just huge rollers, unlike those that appear to be actually breaking. That's absolutely crazy! You guys mustve gotten soaked.

We didn't really get wet. You pick your line thru so that you don't go over a breaking wave, (easier said than done) and the canvas was up. It doesn't look like it but there is enough room between waves that I could run parallel after a crest and go over the next where I needed to. Plus the biggie is throttle control. To fast and launch, not enough and maybe a broach and roll. Happens.
