I have a 310D Sundancer, The engine hatch was working fine but then stopped working. I replaced the switch on the dashboard, I replaced the 3amp fuse , 15amp and lastly jumped the little magnetic switch to the door. I hot wired the hatch so I know that is working correctly. But I'm having no luck and wonder if I can get some directions. My schematic for electrical doesn't show me the 3 amp or rear magnetic switch but it's on the boat.

dead batteries? Door has to be open position.

Good battery and door is open. Thanks for the help

Easiest way would be to disconnect the actuator at the top. There should be a small hatch to reach in and pull the connecting pin. Once disconnected you would need something to lift the hatch with. I had the yard do this to my boat. I think they used a forklift to raise it. Once raised you could check and see if the actuator is getting power.the following is a photo of part of the lift from my current boat.

Don't you have a DC breaker for the hatch motor?

There is a breaker located by the battery switches. I know that if you pull the pin you can lift the hatch with that tiny little handle bit it's not easy. The actuator motor may have died but it should have given you some indication it was going bad? Mine is slooooooow to raise but ok on the down. Once you get the hatch open you can test for power at the plug for the motor. Hardin sells replacement actuators yours is 18 inch.

I can open and close the hatch but only because I have it directly wired to the battery. I need to find out why the switch isn't working. I am going to try another new switch on the dash panel. But does anyone know where i can find the rear door magnetic switch. It's a flathead screw with two wires

It looks like you didn't read our response about the breaker?

Before you replace things - test. Do you have power going into and out of the dash switch?

The mag switch is behind where the door closes. But this is not your problem. However, same thing... test the switch to see if it's operational.

Thank you. I'm going to call out a real technician! Something I should have dont in the beginning. I will let you know what happens.

On my 07 310 the DC breaker is in the bilge.
It's a push to reset breaker.
It's mounted against the bulkhead in front of the engines.
Its a dumb place to put it, but that's where it's at.

So... Here we go. I already replaced the switch. but nothing worked. I figured maybe I screw something up so I went back to review my work. I found the hot leading to the switch, female connector was lose. It must have fell off when I put the dash panel back on. I pinched the connector reconnected and then tried it again and it worked. I must add... I learned a lot trying to figure this out. IMPORTANT that you must have all doors in the proper, open or closed position or the switch will not work. each door or panel has a magnetic switch that will stop the operation to protect the boat from damage when opening or closing the engine hatch. I found 4 of them that I didn't know about before. All on each of the doors that the hatch could effect when opening or closing. Good for protection bad for an idiot like me trying to figure it all out. Good news is it's correctly working now ang I thank everyone for the help.
