2009 Sea Ray Pachanga Boat Show pictures!

Great pics. Unfortunately it does look very small. And I'm sure the cabin is cramped as well. But it sure would be fun to drive.

I completely disagree. For a 22ft go-fast boat, that looks a lot bigger than it is. That boat will do 74 mph+ with the 496ho, the cabin is the last thing to worry about.

As an aside, an ex employee of Sea Ray that worked on this boat design at the old Bucyrus Baja plant said the cabin is pretty large for a 22' boat...

Ugly....dont like the deck or the transom. Too euro mediterranean styled. Nice to see the pachanga name back, but its a spiffied up baja hammer x in the end. All this does is let them one up the little crownlines etc with the checker flags that always try and pull on my fountain. If thats their only goal, than fine. But I expected the pachanga name to try and take a bigger bite.

I agree to a point, I would have been most happy if they pulled the old 22' molds out and popped a few boats with modern rigging. I still prefer the old style.

I wasnt a fan at first, but the more I look at it the more I like. Some of the higher class items that were missing on the original Pachanga 22 like pop up cleats, zero effort controls, tabs with led indicators etc are now present.

I also thought the swim platform looked like an after-thought, but it does allow for a slightly larger sun pad and a bit more cockpit room. It should be good for those of us who will use it for water sports as well.

Based on what ex Baja test drivers have told me, this was a well designed 22' hull. Its quick and can handle rough water well for its size.

Time will tell, but if the price is not ridiculous I will be picking one up. This is not meant to be a competitor to your Fountain, but a limited production boat that a few Pachanga fans have been asking for since 1991. Its a micro boat, and in that catagory anything over 70 mph is considered fast.

It also provides a design exercise to help generate product excitement for SR engineers, and can provide a similar effect to a halo car in the automotive industry. People might come in to see it at the dealership with no intention of buying, but they end up purchasing a much cheaper and family-friendly SR run-about.

I will wait before I pass judgement on this one. Lots of "rumor is", "an ex-SR employee said","ex Baja test driver's told me". Heresay and speculation at this point.

It LOOKS okay from what I see here.

Ask about the turning radius on it. Rumour is no high speed turns above 45 mph!
Where did this come from?

I agree Im waiting on an in person viewing and test drive before making any purchasing decisions.

The point is though everything those sources have told us has been correct to this point, right down to the color of the boat, the engine rigged, the hull, when it will be shown for the first time, etc.

Nice videos! Some good shots of the Pachanga, thats the first I have seen of the cabin.

Question, the green boat in the water right after they show the Pachanga, does it say Hybrid on the side, where the black stripe is? Interesting...

Yes, if you look at the other posting (title - 2009 Lineup boat show) I put the time of the second video that said it, I had to pause it and look at it to make sure it was correct.

edit - to see it pause the second video at 3:24
