2009 Charleston Rendezvous

Ok where is the updates and photo. We need our fix. Hope you all are having a great time.

Sorry, it's been crazy.

We are having a great time. Day #1 we went north to an anchorage opposite Dewees Island called Shark Hole, and Day #2 we anchored off Kiawah Island and went ashore. Here are a few shots of Day #1. I've got lots more and will get them up when we return. So far, no problems, and all is well. Woke up this morning to some rain, but we're all dry and hoping it'll let up soon.

Thanks for the pictures, wish I was there. I went out to the building and sat in MS Judy for a while last night and made motor sounds. Not nearly as much fun as you all are having.

We just got in and are unloading and taking rub rash inventory. Sadler/Bob, Mike and Nicky/Janet are staying one more night. Found a third spot and we are totally missing out berth window trim-port side. Cant figure that one out because the only time I remember rafting up tied on that side was in the no wake area right out from the marina today at lunch and it was not even rough there. Do those just pop on or are they supposed to glue on?

Chuck, dont feel bad. I think we left the rest of those guys today to a day and night of rain. Sadler, you will have to keep us posted on how wet you get.

The pump out at the marina was interesting. Lets just say it took about an hour+. The fella was as nice and helpful as he could be though. Thanks for the facilities Sadler. Gotta be one of the best showers we have had. Considered taking a nap on the toilet in the air conditioning. LOL.

Let me just say... GREAT WEEKEND/RONDEVOUS TRIP! Thank you Sadler for making everthing so easy and enjoyable. Your knowledge of the area and for overnighting on the hook was superb and greatly appreciated.

Nicky/Janet Mike and Bob... it was great meeting you guys and getting to know you. Janet, thanks for the wonderful chicken salad and shower!

Hope to see everyone real soon. We will have to get started on the next one!

Will try to work on posting some pics tonight.

Kes and Jay--sorry about your loosing the window trim. I don't recall any rubbing there either. I don't know how it attaches. You might be able to find a used one since I believe they are common to many years of Sea Rays.

It was really great meeting both of you and having many laughs together. I loved that cool grill! And, you definitely hold the record for the longest walk on the Kiawah beach.

Let's do it again real soon, and your idea to head north to the Grand Strand area is a great one. Maybe we do the man cabin along the way.

As for after you departed, we headed south down the ICW for about 13 miles to a favorite anchorage. We ran about half of the way with the current, and dropped the speed to trawler speed. Mike and I were both showing over 2.5 mpg during that time. It was a very relaxing drive.

Believe it or not, we did not get a drop of rain the entire way down. We ended up taking all the aft canvas off and we ran in sunshine most of the way. And since we've been here, we've not had any rain. It's Monday morning now and we are just getting the generators fired up for coffee, and the sky looks like it did yesterday--ready to rain. Maybe we'll luck out again today.

Wow great pics! Sadler, I love the beach one with the dingy in the foreground. And Janet, you musta been up all night with Nicky being beyond "bout" to get that early shot! Thats beautiful. Cant believe yall got NO rain! It rained on us loading up and then all the way home. Quit just in time to unload. Great morning here at the house though...gotta get a bigger boat if we plan on many more trips like this! Good memories and laughs guys. Yeh, we will have to check out the man cabin!

Guy and Gals you are sure making me sick with envy. Great pictures, you may not have missed me, but I sure miss not being there:smt089Keep them pictures coming.

On the pics...I tried this morning. New camera and think my CSR uploads are failing because they are too big. Uploaded to an online site earlier and just have not figured out how to post a link here yet. Got started on cleaning the boat and lets just say...we found a major cleaning project subsequent to our trip that we had not expected! Still working on the it/theboat. Thank God we came home yest.

if you are usuing photobucket, just copy the img code that is to the right of the picture and paste it into a post here.

Chuck, we were all very surprised. We thought we would miss you, but we didn't.--Nicky

Chuck, I was telling a little fib, WE REALLY DID MISS YOU and the rest of the CSR Carolina gang. Hopefully before the season is over we can officially meet.
janet and I are truely greatful to Sadler and Bob for all the preparation they made to make this a sucessful Rendezvous. It was nice to meet Kess and Jay,sorry about you'r trim, Ive looked my boat over and it is not inbedded in my gelcoat. Hope we can do a Gtown, Blackriver, Redneck (what you said) Man cabin run soon. Mike it was really educational spending this time with you, I learned a great deal of tricks as well as fundimental things from both you and Sadler(fearless leader, tourguid, boat captin trainer). Hopefully next time Sadler will give me my diploma.
Janet and I both had the time of our lives, to all of you that could not make it, a fun time was missed. Nicky

Hey ho everyone, I finally made it home and cleaned up the whole mess! Boat is securly tucked into it's dry stack home. Whew, what a trip. I laughed so hard a few times I think I busted something. Nicky you are a mess! And Janet, your one great lady to put up with that man! Kess and Jay, looking forward to a trip "up" the intercostal. Sadler and Bob, great job and thank you so much for hosting the Charleston Rendezvous again.

Sadler...Nicky, Janet and I had a nice uneventful, (no police) but I did have to tow a young couple back to the dock, serene ride back to the Riversedge Marina. Loaded the boats nice and easy, with many onlookers too! Nicky looked like a pro stabbing that 270 onto the trailer, easy as you please. I was impressed. Janet looked right at home dragging the whole shebang up the ramp.
I very much enjoyed myself, and can't wait for the sequal. Thanks all, Mike

Though I'd add a ps, Janet, I'm still full as a tick. Guess I'll eat something tomorrow morning!

Sorry for this late post. I've been on a business trip and just returned. Thanks to everyone--Bob, Nicky and Janet, Mike, and Kes and Jay for a great time. Boating with such super people is to me the best part of owning a Sea Ray. The four days of this rendezvous probably rank as one of the all time best boat trips I've had. Thanks to everyone for the kind comments--I enjoyed helping out where I could. And thanks to Jim, Wesley, and all the other people who support this site. It's been a great resource for so many of us.

All we need now is to start planning the next trip! :smt038

Here is a slideshow of the rendezvous using Janet's and my photos:

ps--Sweet Dreams, if you want to, send me a link to your photos, and I'll add them to the slideshow.
