Notice that prices have gone up as well. :wow:

And the 270 Sundeck is gone from the line up as well. :smt089

There are several new and interestiing options on the 260DA. First of all, Sea Core is available across the board on the engines (extra cost of course ). Then there is a teak cockpit table and a cockpit filler cushion. I know I inquired on this last year and even though it never showed up as an option you could get it. Now they show it on the option list. But the biggest head scratcher is there are two different types of colored hulls. One they call two tone, and it is cheaper than the regular hull option. Of course nothing is shown in the pictures so I have no idea what the two tone hull looks like.

Dave,

I believe I have seen the two tone treatment on a 260 DA in blue. This particular boat did not have bottom paint. This boat had a blue hull band extending from the rubrail to about eight - twelve inches or so above the chine line. From this point and below (to the keel), the hull is white with a blue stripe located a few inches below the colored band and few inches above the chine.

Chuck,

What did you think of the 290 SD's seating arrangement as compared to a 240 or 260 SD? Also did SR carry over the Kid's cabin/time out room just foward of the helm area?

Big typo on the 290SD. Specification: Overall Length : 39' 6'' / 8.99 m. That would be one heck of a bow rider!

At first I was not sure, but after they told me the back moves was really a big plus. If Judy wanted to sit by herself could be pushed forward, but if she wanted to sit with one of the kids could be pushed back making a bigger front facing lounger. Could also be pushed forward and make a huge rear facing loungers. With the Table in the down position very similar to the 240 seating. But pop the table up and your ready for eating out. Yes the cabin is still there and it is bigger, even has a DVD in it. The front seats seem bigger to me than the 240/270s the caption chair was nice not that star trek chair  The head was bigger too  Could not find a place for a SeaRay 5K genset, but I think you could install a smaller one in the huge bilge.

I just noticed the 250 Amberjack is also history and doesn't show up on Sea Ray's web site any longer.

They need more pictures of the different option(s)

Holy cow....just looked at the 07 vs. 08 on the 38DA....the base for the 08 was about 18K more...ouch!!

must be reading CSR... sea ray site went down for a few minutes.. and correction to 29' has been made..

I don't know how they expect the 260SD and the 240SD to co-exist? I haven't taken the time to go through detail by detail, but most the specs are the same. It looks like the 260 has a larger std. engine, but you could get that in the 240. The price difference is about 7k apart. I wonder which boat will be removed from the lineup first.

Yeah.. I wasn't that impressed with the 260 differences.... now the 290.... well I ordered a brouchure .. Think one can still negotiate the 25% off list??

This is just my opinion but I think they will sell both for some time unless sales of the 240SD start falling off. I still believe that the the so called 260SD was the intended replacement for the 240SD. The 240SD was supposed to go away a couple of years ago but I think the hue and cry from dealers stopped that. This is not much different than the 290DA which was originally called the "new 280" and was supposed to replace the "old 280DA". But as you can see the 280DA is still in the 2008 line up because demand is still high for it even though it is still the "old design" much the same way as the 240SD is an old design too.

The comment I heard from SeaRay was that the only reason the 260 was made so that you could get the bigger engine it. They would not put it in the 240

Seems very interesting that 280 is available for 2008... is this 3 or 4 model years after the 290 made it's first appearance? I still see very very few 290's on the water.... I think they will have to do more than add the 280 cabin dinette. Maybe a cockpit redesign and toss the square windshield in the dumpster?

The Sport Boats section feels a little crowded.... 18 boats seems quite a few to cover the 17.5 - 29.5 foot span of the sport boat section. I see the 240SD joins the 280DA in the popular classic style corner. What exactly is "Fission" oh my

The Sport Yacht's seemed to be unchanged..... looking at the Yacht area...... I swear that 55  winked  at me..... you saw that right

Yeah Jeremy...........I saw that too. But you won't be able to trailer a 55 footer and it will take a bit longer to polish that one. :smt043

Just saw that 290SD floor plan. EWWWW!

Almost all the passnger seating is on the Port side? Not smart from a trim perspective.

And what's with that stern seat? That's is not a "swing seat". Nice when you are at anchor or dock: Not smart when underway.

Looked and looked, but can’t find my boat. :smt009 Guess those nasty rumors were true about stopping production.
Had a chance to go on a new 330 in the showroom last week. Everything is very well done and likeable, except for the pricing. If I was in the market for this size, I’m thinking a one or two year old 340 would be a better buy.
