Hello

Looking for help with the cabin sliding door on my 2007 310 Sundancer. Seems as though the "upper track" is gone or loose. The fixed portion track is still there but the sliding door right to left is really loose. Seems as though a shim or something is missing and makes the door harder to slide. Also, door seems loose so when closed and in choppy water or when walking up steps on door to get to bow the door moves quite abit. Looking for any help or advice on this. Thank you!!!

Check out Flounder Pounder. Ask for Ben. He knows his sliding doors. Had to rebuild mine this past spring. Ladies love it now. Much easier to slide.

If your 310 is like mine (2009), you'll find that the plastic slide inserts that slide in the upper track have had the screws that attach them to the door strip out. As a result, the top portion of the door floats in the fore/aft direction when the steps are used. Also, sliding the door left/right usually binds in some way.

Unfortunately, my research indicates the port-side shroud that covers the door must come out in order to fix the problem. The SR designers really dropped the ball on this. The slide trucks should be through-bolted into the door as opposed to simply using screws given the forces they must endure. Also, no forethought was given to providing access for maintaining/replacing the door track mechanisms, without forcing a major tear down.

I'll be tackling my door problem over the winter...my last remaining unknown is where to source the brown caulk used on the shroud. Once I find it, it's time to dive in...

+1 on that! :smt021

Your Sea Ray dealer should be able to provide the caulk... When mine was new, I had a leak at the helm that the dealer fixed with the brown caulk (after removing the windshield to get to it!).

That's exactly what happened to mine. Looks like quite abit if prep work for a small problem. It's mind boggling that Sea Ray designed it that poorly!!!
Thanks for the help and please let me know how your repair goes. It drives me crazy but not sure I want to deal with removing the whole shroud etc,, but think I will dive into it over the winter.

Did you find a shortcut or did you have to remove the entire port-side shroud?
