2007 260 DA Speedo not working

Hey folks. Was out Saturday and my Speedo is not working. I did just change out GPS and had to wire so the first thing I will check is any wires coming to/from speedo. Aside from that, where is the speedo pickup in the water? Outdrive? Hull?

It's on the leading edge of the drive. It's a pretty small hole and it plugs pretty easily. I use a small drill bit and turn it by hand.

Since you were installing a new gps the tube from the drive could have come loose at the speedometer. Here's a link on troubleshooting teleflex speedometers. They have troubleshooting on all teleflex gauges & just about anything on a boat. I've given up cleaning out the pitot tube hole on the drive it only takes a small amount of algae bloom to plug it mine hasn't worked for 4 years.
